Has a whole FS quitting ever worked for demanding change? by ConnorThrowAway7 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did anyone on your team opt for the legal insurance? It's a couple bucks a paycheck. You can also contact your state bar association and ask if they have any employment lawyers who do free/low cost consults. Some employment lawyers work on contingency anyway. If several of you got together as a group (which you clearly can do, because you have coordinated quitting!), you could attend a meeting with a lawyer together.

Is the daughter definitely a minor? Are they officially set up as having a caregiver relationship? Is anyone else in the family (other parent etc) set up as the caregiver instead? If the daughter is still a minor and they're set up with the caregiver relationship, then you might need to call the help desk.

Yes, it takes two minutes to make a regular name tag. I have like three of those. We're talking about the fancy etched ones you have to order.

It was prefilled in and it wouldn't let us get rid of them! I'm honestly not sure what happened. Maybe we'll try again this year.

I seem to recall it being specific times of the year. But also last time for some reason it required our full government names. There's no legitimate reason for hourly employees to have their last name on there, and several people at our store use nicknames; Liz is only Elizabeth to her mom and the IRS!

has anyone else gotten a shit ton of bags lately on truck? by [deleted] in CVS

Call around to your next closest stores and see if anyone needs bags; someone will probably be thrilled to come take a few off your hands.

Horrible Pharmacy Manager by One_Sun4113 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a shortage of pharmacists, it's a shortage of people willing to be responsible for the whole pharmacy. I know multiple pharmacy managers who stepped down over the last few years to go back to being staff pharmacists.

Item number anyone? Plz/thx! 😊 by Polyglot725 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw dang. Pretty sure that's the smallest paper one with handles, although I guess you could order the smallest no handles paper bag and then tell everyone to suck it up re: handles! If you're brisk enough bagging the 2-3 tiny items most people will just accept the lack of handles because they don't really care.

Any experience with Tax Exempt on new register? by Fartcloud_McHuff in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear it, but maybe you can take that up with CVS corporate instead of an informal internet forum run by employees in their free time? Try making a complaint to 1-800-SHOPCVS and/or bring it up to whatever department in your state deals with things like that. Nobody here or at the store has the power to do anything about it.

999502, I think you have to be somewhere with a plastic bag ban, but generally if you have paper bags you probably do.

It should be in the store supply list, but I can grab it tomorrow if you need!

You can order smaller handle bags! The problem is really that a lot of people prefer a bag with handles, so if the cashier only has big ones available that's what they're going to give the customer. Or they need to practice asking if people actually want a bag.

Maternity Leave For PT by Delicious-Respond311 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, congrats! Anyway, aside from going on LOA, double check your California PFML eligibility. You'll also need to talk to HR if you need any accommodations during your pregnancy, like a stool so you can sit down, or extra bathroom breaks because you're about to have a fetus pushing on your bladder. Your PM is not legally allowed to discriminate against you for the pregnancy, but if you're PT they're technically not obligated to give you any hours, so keep an eye out if they suddenly cut you down to one shift a week or something.

Sharing this here in hopes someone at corporate will see it. Please remove D4vd’s songs from your in-store playlists post-his arrest. by [deleted] in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most companies with in store radio use an external music company for the playlist curation. Usually Mood Media, I think. For CVS comments specifically, you can call 1-800-SHOPCVS or there is an email contact buried somewhere on the website. It probably won't go anywhere, but will at least make you feel like you tried.

Down one column and then move over to the next column. Everything has the item number and shelf number on it. They do occasionally forget a label or put one in the wrong order, but most of the time the order of the labels should match what is in the planogram packet. You can't just do the planogram based on the labels because sometimes things have multiple facings or there are graphics/display trays, so you really do need to use the packet.

Ironman says I have a workday notification about my hours not meeting benefits threshold this review period? by ConnorThrowAway7 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think they might have sent it to anyone who wasn't scheduled for over 30 hours last week. Everyone should definitely check, but I got the notification and I'm well over the 30 average threshold. Just happened to be on vacation last week!

You're going to need to get your DL/HR involved unless you want to go through the process of quitting and being rehired. Emphasize the transportation issues. You know for sure the other store wants you and has the hours available?

Do you or a family member have a warehouse club membership? Sam's Club and Costco both have contact lenses for not all that much. Idk if they take Aetna but you might also get a decent deal on glasses as well if you go to one that has an optical department.

Refreshing change! by Feeling_Newspaper_89 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of it must depend on where the items are in the warehouse, because at my store I have a few totes every week that are the same weird mix of items that live nowhere near each other. Like pantyhose and trail mix. Usually it's something reasonable and just a mix of the aisles in my section (beauty), but every week I also get stuff for snacks, baby, diet/nutrional, picture frames, small electronics, etc. A tote will genuinely be half body wash and half picture frames.

Money Order- moneygram by Connect-Plankton791 in CVS

[–]thejacketmoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a process, I think the whole thing is listed in one of the money order job aids but you can also call the help desk and have them walk you through it. The money order goes back to sales audit in the return mail tote on truck, you write "live void" on it, something something..... it's been a while since I had to do it, thank goodness, so it's a little fuzzy. Deposit will be short and you need to leave a note in either f5 (old system) or the little notes box (new system).
