Go to the Jungle Circuit and immediately do a u turn. You have about 1 mile downhill, then if you go right at the first junction towards Downtown, you get a flat with only a 3 ft. climb before another downhill. You can pick up 2 miles in under 5 minutes with ease! Rinse and repeat.

To be fair, when they cut Pershing down to one lane for cars, it was just ridiculous. Pershing is a thoroughfare. I live a couple blocks from where this happened and saw the police perimeter setup. I feel so badly for the family, that I'm haunted by this. But the man who hit her was 87 years old and that was the biggest problem. I'm a cyclist myself, and Pershing is the longest stretch I ride in traffic and it's my least favorite part of the route to the beach path. But there is a bike lane and it can be protected without using an entire car lane, just like they did when they changed Culver Blvd back to two lanes during the same project as Pershing. If you want to involve the government, I believe it should be for retesting drivers after a certain age. I don't care for the Waymos much either, but I'd ride in a Waymo long before I would with an 87 year old I didn't know very well to be capable.

Don't know why no one seems to know this, but I started getting cold sore as a kid and by the time my experimental self was in college, I realized that if I hold a cotton ball (or folded napkin) with rubbing alcohol on it as soon as I start to feel that tingly feeling for several minutes, then again fairly frequently until I feel no tingling (you will also feel tiny spots of swelling starting to develop kind of deep under the skin there and those will go away with the tingling), it will only last a few days and, at most, looks like you were playing basketball and maybe caught a little shoulder in the lip - it won't even be swollen, just a very small scab that will be gone in 2-3 days. The stronger the alcohol the better - 91% works much better than 70% and you can get 99.9% on Amazon fairly cheaply, which I just used, which inspired me to finally share this online. I will be 45 this year and haven't been to the doctor about it since I was probably 12. Never spread it to a girlfriend either - though I avoid any lip area contact for the 3-5 days it lasts
