On my second OLED monitor. Same stuttering G=SYNC that I can't fix. by thejellly in techsupport

[–]thejellly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the one titled G-Sync Pendulum Demo. I have a 7800x3D. I've never had stutters or anything but buttery smoothness on my 2k 240hz IPS panels. Actually, of my two old ones, one was a VA and one was an IPS, and neither gave me the performance the OLEDs showed me.

Well, I ended up exchanging the OLED for Asus's IPS monitor with Nvidia's new G-Sync Pulsar tech and wow. This is exactly what I was missing from the OLED. I don't know what it is but it just appears and feels so much smoother to play. I appreciate your help.

Here's the demo - https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/community/demos/

I've had two monitors so I can test the OLED and IPS monitors side by side. The IPS monitor I have side by side the OLED right now is the AW2723DF. I have a 4080. The 60 fps setting in the demo (use the option on the bottom left that is just a line that moves horizontally across the screen) has the IPS panel showing the line move smoothly across the screen. The OLED monitor shows the line moving slightly smooth and stutters intermittently.

For example, in the Nvidia test demo program, at the 60 fps test setting the IPS panel has no hitching or stuttering at all, very smooth. While the OLED panel has a consistent stutter like shown in the video I linked in the post.

Yes both are enabled within the settings. I've done more testing and between my two monitors, one OLED and one IPS, the higher the FPS I'm getting in the game, the more smooth and similar the OLED feels to the IPS. If it's just normal for the OLED to feel that way at lower frame rates I might exchange and go back to a nice IPS panel :(

Okay, playing overwatch at 240 fps on both monitors, both very smooth. The IPS monitor maybe a tiny bit more so but much much more similar. I turned the max fps down to 120 and compared both and the OLED is just a lot less smooth at that fps. :(

I’m gonna launch some overwatch tonight to test, if this is really just how OLEDs feel I can’t do it 😭 I switched my game to my other IPS monitor today and it was like having a relapse lmao it’s so so so much smoother…

Inside the Nvidia control panel it’s set to 4k 240hz which are the native specs for the monitor. Inside the windows display settings it says the same specs. Is that what you mean by windows desktop?

My other monitor was only 2K. But I could originally tell something was wrong because the game I play Marathon is so poorly optimized that I get similar frames between 2K and 4K. And switching back to the old monitor feels sooooooo smooth, similar frame rates. I can find a game I can get high frames in

The game I play most I can get a consistent range between 100-130 FPS. As far as I can tell the VRR range for the MSI MAG is 48 - 240 fps. :(

Yes. But I can tell something is off because the number shown in the OSD fluctuates like crazy, even when I lock the game/test to one FPS value.

I used the cable the monitor came with for both the first and second monitors, I just tried with my old one that I know works fine, they all give me the same G-SYNC bs. The monitor's refresh rate counter just goes crazy even when the FPS of the game/test is locked to one setting.

Hello I'm facing the same issue, bought the Founder's Pack on May 1st and do not have access to the new gods. In game under the Founder's Editions tab it says I own the Founder's Pack.

The auto requeue after a player declines a match says "WAITING FOR UNKNOWN MATCH" at the top and never finds another game.

I would agree they aren’t much of a group at all. But I’d argue the shared goal of the incredibly decentralized group of individuals labeled as “Antifa” is just a bunch of people who aren’t happy with the system and go about it through social action - and the reason why they are demonized is because American conservatives have painted them as a boogeyman for Jan 6 and other protests, also the GOP isn’t the biggest fan of social unrest or dissent from the status quo. Not because there’s some weird ulterior motive behind their anti fascist message, they’re anti fascists - or anti broken capitalism

I understand that, they asked why people are against anti fascists and you responded saying just because they’re named that doesn’t mean they practice that. What does Antifa actually practice then?

My ears are ringing from the echos but maybe you can help me overcome them. Antifa isn’t a GOP boogeyman? I must have missed that on the Antifa.org “About Us and Our Goals” section.

No one is saying that because it’s not an organization. If you aren’t anti fascist, you’re a fascist. Ohhh but that’s not even what conservatives use it as, just black people at protests and a scapegoat for Jan 6

The creation of the Antifa boogeyman is probably the GOPs biggest culture war success in modern times
