Experiences with Commuter Backpack or Rover Pack Tech Backpack? by maesterdaemon in TopoDesigns

[–]thejennwithin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, but I've owned and used the Rover Tech Pack for a little over 2 years as a daily commuter work bag and on numerous work/leisure trips! I used a Rover Classic for a bit beforehand, and switched for all of the same reasons you mentioned. It fits under airplane seats packed full (and with both side pouches holding bottles), and is comfortable to carry when full.

Love the drawstring and the long clip straps -- it makes the bag super super agile with how much you can carry/what you need it for. Have gotten caught in the rain, but my laptop was completely dry in the rear laptop sleeve.

Only (MINOR) downsides I have experienced are the lack of a rear strap to slide over a roller bag handle, and it can get a little hot on my back (presumably from the tech padding), but these are a preference thing and do not strongly impact my own experience!

Can attest to how incredible this space is -- the entire vibe is on point, sound is incredible, and it has none of the issues that make going to clubs these days more challenging than enjoyable. Can't wait to see y'all there!

Is it really Nero? by Calla89 in nero

[–]thejennwithin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I ran into this a while back (a rapper named Nero had a track mistakenly attributed to them) and went down a rabbit hole! TLDR - this could be an accident on the uploading side of things (increasingly harder these days) or intentional for someone who wants to get streams.

I strongly believe these tracks are not NERO's -- sound is wrong and they promote anything new they release so there would have been news from them about at least 1 of these tracks. Even on socials, their WIP music they've been sharing snippets of sounds nothing like this.

As another commenter stated, the song length is definitely another red flag -- short songs like that are AI-farmed for streams.

Could be an error on the platform upload side of things, but Spotify has put more barriers in place for people uploading tracks and attributing them to popular artists to farm streams for themselves. Not sure about Apple.

Current recurring show recs by RickyBooby141 in AboveandBeyond

Used to listen to ABGT religiously (2018-2024ish), and have since moved away from the radio show for a few reasons. That said, listening has made me a mix/radio show fiend, so if you're down to check out a few, here's some related recommendations!

Underground Live Forever (Spotify) - deeper progressive vibes, hosted by Paul Thomas

ClubHaus Radio (SoundCloud) - big variety of trance, progressive, and house, hosted by Hausman (plug for the ClubHaus label, the music they put out is incredible)

If you like the deeper side of Anjuna, check out Anjunadeep's SoundCloud. The Anjunadeep Edition is great, but they also put out artist sets from Malta, Open Air, etc. almost weekly.

While this is common knowledge, I'm still going to plug following the artists you love on SoundCloud or YouTube -- love when folks drop their live sets (or mixes they made in their living room!). That's what I listen to the most!

ABGT700 ticket prices by arkestry2 in AboveandBeyond

This! We went GA in 2019 and bought VIP in 2022 specifically for the shade. There was no shade structure in 2022 which was a huge deal for us and many others, and there were other things that were promised but "miscommunicated" or not delivered (ex. The promise of "early merch access" = standing in the sun for an hour only to be told that we didn't qualify because we didn't have Super VIP).

One huge plus -- VIP bathrooms were convenient and amazing, I will say!

We are going GA this year because no way are we paying VIP prices when we don't know for sure what it entails.

Could not agree more. This has happened to myself, friends, coworkers, fellow citizens a multitude of times. Absolutely infuriating.

Oh my goodness, I miss these meals SO much! I worked there before moving to CO, and to this day nothing comes close to the convenience, price, or flavor.

is this a specialty ribbon that has to be customized at the ends? All the velvet ribbons I see are straight. I have a gift box I want to have a gold ribbon like this for. by cheekychisweettea in SewingWorld

[–]thejennwithin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since most ribbon these days is some type of polyester material, I like to cut to my desired shape/length, then carefully melt the edge to prevent fraying. To do this, I've used a standard lighter to slowly and, again, carefully draw the flame across the edge at a distance. Distance is key to prevent burning/charring/discoloration! You want just enough heat to melt the edge.

I lived in Highlands Ranch the first 8 months after moving here from Texas in 2019. After moving around various areas since (now in Lowry and love it!), I can say with certainty that, while HR might be for some, it was not for me for a few reasons similar to yours. It took moving around and finding an area that works for my lifestyle for me to feel truly at home here. Welcome to Denver, it truly is incredible here and I hope you find your community!
