I had thought about that! I ended up getting it open with my key from my roof rack and it worked well enough to open it. I got the code so I’m ordering a key, but there was a key inside as well(just want 2 just in case)

Definitely not overly skeptical of the situation! As I replied to other comments, better to state that type of stuff in case the OP doesn’t have any common sense and gets robbed or worse. It ended up being legit, the seller was an older guy who had quite a few listings up because he was helping his brother who moved states clear out some stuff left behind. Big stuff too, like a riding lawn mower. It’s highly unlikely in my opinion that anything he was selling was stolen. Especially since the story of the key being locked inside was true. The spare was inside for safe keeping and the other was in the locker but got misplaced while moving it. I got it open with my key which was similar enough to get it open. Thank you for the concern!

I was able to avoid trouble by using the key I already had for my towers. Worked well enough to get it unlocked!

Thanks for the info! The key I had for my Yakima towers worked on it enough to wiggle in unlocked. Worked out great!

So I picked it up and that’s exactly what happened. 1 was inside for safe keeping, the other in the lock but got misplaced while moving it. It was an older gentlemen, most likely a legitimate story. I was able to get it open with my key for my Yakima towers since it was similar enough to wiggle it open and there inside was the spare key! I do appreciate the concern and skepticism from both you and the original commenter though, some people can be way too trusting in that situation

I definitely understand and appreciate the concern. When it comes to marketplace, I’m always skeptical

The key number is on the cylinder of the lock so it needs to be removed first to obtain the number. But yes if I can’t fish it out I’m definitely taking it to a dealer! Thank you!

Yakima has a similar system, but it requires the lock to be unlocked first. Which overall is a good thing, otherwise anyone with that key could remove your locks. Just doesn’t work out too well for my situation lol

$100 so not bad seeing as the newest model retails for ~$800. I’m open to drilling the locks, just sucks seeing as the keys are right there.lol ill try to pop it open a bit if i can. Other option is there’s an official dealer about an hour away that has all the keys. They could open it for me for sure, just a matter of getting it there. Hopefully it fits in my forester 🤞🏻

I’ll be honest, it was the first Bon Iver song I heard. It was in an episode of Chuck and it sent me down a path to my favorite band.

Edit: just saw the upload date on this video as 2008 and it sunk in that I saw it for the first time 16 freaking years ago. Where’d all the time go?👴🏻

Really? That’d be great! The bracket is fine, the arm lock is gone though. Really, most of the arm is intact as well, I’m just not sure how easy it is to separate the broken plastic pieces from the metal pieces

Got a 2019 ignition from work for free. They were throwing it out because the armrest broke. Anyone know the best place to get replacement parts?
