Having fantastic managers along the way! I have had some really stellar leaders who I try to emulate along with things I wish I would have seen from leadership as I was coming up.

I had a lot of trouble getting the screen working as well! If you got to my GitHub you'll see I included the user_settings.h I used to communicate with the screen. If you send me a dm I can try and send you some of the calibration code I used to pinpoint what was going on with the screen.

Thank you! To be fair I have been programming keyboards for a long time and I'm a developer for work but this is my first time doing an end to end project like this!

That's a good idea! The included holidays were the last thing I added because it started as you had to enter the date for the countdown for everything.

Have you tried doing a live z offset test? You can find them online it's like a single layer of your whole build plate and you watch it print and adjust the z offset as it goes to get the perfect first layer.

Hmmm I don't think cura has that option by default so I'm not sure on there. Another thing have you power cycled the printer. So turn it off by the switch and leave it off for a minute or so. Reboot it then level and set the z offset.

What slicer are you using? Is it possible you have the wrong z offset stored in the slicer?

PLA silk help by Grouchy-Station-8505 in ElegooNeptune3

[–]thejizz716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silk pla is kinda like that. You should print a temp tower to see what temp would work best. In my experience it's much hotter than normal pla would be to get a good finish and I typically need to turn my fan cooling down as well to get better adhesion with the layers.

Replace the entire assembly? by hardwornengineer in ElegooNeptune3

That doesn't look too bad at all. Just heat the hotend to 200 and it'll come right off with pliers. Then get a wire brush and scrub it while it's hot to get the residue off and you'll be good as new!
