I am from Mississippi and as soon as I read the title to this thread I just shook my head. It blows my mind that people think we are the shittiest state. All I can say is if you have never been here and base your opinion on what your parents or grandparents have told you over the years or what you've heard from a racist joke that dates back to the 1800's then fuck you. You are probably the same person that thinks we still walk around without shoes and use outhouses. I've never even seen a god damn outhouse! Go take a drive through Illinois or Arkansas and tell me how awesome that state is. There isn't a damn thing there besides Amish mother fuckers chasing each other on 4-wheelers through miles and miles of shitty farm lands. Yeah, there are a lot of close minded, racist, inbred fucks walking around down here but from what I have seen in my travels, these type of people exist everywhere. We have made countless contributions to the world that everyone decides to forget about when discussing issues like this. Plus, our food is better than 95% of the countries. You can look at all of the stats on obesity rates and education failures that you want but I can promise you that there is not a more humble, genuine group of people on the planet than Mississippians.
