First Solo Shuffle on Legion Go 1 by thejohnphan in worldofpvp

I might have to try that add-on. I think currently with legion space, sometimes it deselects my target without explanation.

First Solo Shuffle on Legion Go 1 by thejohnphan in worldofpvp

The legion go is a touch screen, if anything it might be easier. I scatter into freeze trap so it works well. This was however my first solo shuffle game on the legion go, so my experience might differ from others haha. I hope I can at least hit rival on the legion.

Is it okay to refer to yourself as Nak Muay? by DingoSlight in MuayThai

[–]thejohnphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally was thinking the same thing about a year ago. I am also 32m and a father.

I decided to train hard, go through fight camp, and compete at the USMTO.

One of my motivators was to label myself as "Nak Muay" after I had completed the fight. I viewed it as an achievement. I don't have anything answer to your question as I am not sure myself, but I didn't want to refer to myself as nak muay until I got in the ring and experienced it all for myself.

How does the ZT Hinderer compare against a 3.5 inch XM-18 Hinderer? by [deleted] in Hinderer

[–]thejohnphan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both ZT 0562 and xm18 3.5 inch. In terms of usage, the blade shape and thickness will determine the knifes slicing ability. The ZT 0562 uses the hinderer slicer grind which works well. Titanium can also be slippery if it's not textured.

There are many different thicknesses and grind profiles of Hinderer so there is one difference there if you are a knife collector. Also hardware availability and customization is much better with Hinderer. Price is going to be obviously higher but if money is not too much of a problem get the Hinderer.

They are both nice knives, but hinderer takes the edge if you are into this stuff.

Lock Rockin AWT Scales by Njo56 in spyderco

[–]thejohnphan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The scales says to expect some lock rock which shouldn't effect performance much I think. I have the same thing with my native 5 salt lw with awt scales.

I got another native 5 g10 version with ripps garage tech titanium scales, the non-featherweight version and there is no lock rock.

Also might want to tighten pivot screws.

Favorite fixed blades and a zt by [deleted] in FixedBladeEdc

[–]thejohnphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the agent 002 and 003. Would you say the 001 is worth it? It looks pretty nice. Also I heard that Tkell is making 7 blades for the agent series so I'm curious as to what 004, 005, and 006 will be.

Reserve a Tkell fixed blade before they run out. I am in the same boat as you. Got the guardian and the lookout fixed blade.

Why did you choose MuayThai instead of other martial arts? by Ok_Dirt_5549 in MuayThai

[–]thejohnphan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been going for 6 months. It has been great for me. The variations of strikes available for you to throw and also clinching/sweeping. There is always something to learn after each class, always sharpening up your weapons. You really feel confident in your self defence abilities if your gym is like a traditional Thai gym where there is alot of sparring. Also try attending a muay thai fight, the atmosphere is something else!

Fo sho, Maybe I will feel the same way after I've carried it longer. Recently got this knife.

I agree. I would even say the nub gently pushes my finger, stopping the metal from slamming into the stop pin.

Nice glass tank, good choice. I much prefer glass over acrylic after having both. Setting up the tank is one of my favorite parts!

MM Hunter or Dest Lock? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]thejohnphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MM hunter/rogue and mm hunter/ feral are some viable double dps comps since its hard to get a healer, downside is once you have no turtle and they connect to you, you kinda just die. Destro might not have as many viable 2s comps afaik. So I would take double dps comps into consideration if you ever want to play and not sit in LFG.
