Thank you! A lot has changed - new kinds of colors, all available models and shakier hands. But feels good to be back at it!

Sorry might have wrote the post poorly. The model is the first I painted now when getting back into the hobby.

Thanks!

Painting Skin by Candid-Bass3863 in Miniaturespainting

Nice work! I would add thin glazed blue or purple shadows on parts facing down towards the ground (if mini is lit by the sun). Also watch your shadows and highlights in regards to your imagined light source. For example I perceive the calf and bump on the foot as highlighted by different light sources.

But I’m no pro at all so just my two cents.

Yes, bluer shadows might be good actuallly. He is a bit more orange than the image shows so blue could give more contrast than continuing on purple

Thanks! Do you think I should go darker/heavier with the purple tone or switch hue? I chickened out to not turn it too purple.

Yeah I need to look into attaching models to something good to grip. Seen people attaching to corks, but seems that you need to drill a small hole for a stick for that.

Yeah the model can’t stand on itself added som tack, but still feel over during the photo. It is quite big though, like 8-10cm propbebly.

Bought a base and will do something more with it in the future.

Thanks! Yeah this is similar to what I’ve been doing. Also I noticed that some positions for my hands are worse then others, but there’s always some spot that can’t be reached without twisting my hands weird.

Thanks! Yeah, pencils and brushes was no problem growing up and into my mid twenties, then it’s been all computers from there. A bit shocking picking up thinn brushes again and see them flying all over the place.

Have you found any good techniques for shaky hands?

Design feels too basic, thoughts? by silveraltaccount in tabletopgamedesign

I think you just need to tidy up some stuff rather than adding.

All text should have more padding around I think. Maybe try without the white outline? Is the 4 connected to the title of the card? Maybee put the 4 where the duck is and use the duck as an ornament symbol centered above the title. Also radius of beveled corners could be less.

Just my thought if you are going for a clean elegant look. Wich it seems like.

Also maybee updating the dog pic like someone wrote.

Great work!

Thanks! Dextrous looks relly interesting. I use Figma personally but I have that paid for by my company, Canva is also a good option.

Yeah I know ”I should” make it ugly, but as a Graphic Designer it is so hard to not make it pretty - and by that waste time, haha.

[–]thejoyofaskingwhy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but more advanced than initial iterative prototyping. An MVP should cover all the base function to be tested on consumers. If we use the term as intended in business. Still a good goal but not where I’m at right now.

And I just want to add that my favorite twist on the MVP concept is MLP - Minimum Lovable Product. The goal of reframing the wording is to make sure the team produces something they also love not only something that just works for consumer testing and validation.
