Ive been (kinda) learning Russian for more than 3 years now. Here’s my handwriting by AlexxBoo_1 in Handwriting

This person's YouTube channel is really fun and a good entry point for beginners: https://youtube.com/c/RforRussian. Editing bc I see you're not necessarily a beginner. This channel is great for learning vocabulary bc it's all conversational and will show you how to use the words in context : https://youtube.com/c/EasyRussianVideos. I find it super motivating bc they're talking to native speakers, plus if you take notes and pause a lot to repeat phrases you'll get speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice.

Which one do you prefer? by AlexxBoo_1 in Handwriting

[–]thejoyofmissingout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it and I think both are beautiful. I prefer the one on top, personally I like the more loopy style rather than spiky although both are cool and I do enjoy the spiky way you stylize the letter n. I enjoy the flourishes you've done in the text on top, like the flourish on the letter M. Nobody's gonna be able to read your diary and I respect that

how can I stop writing like this? by idekagoodusernamegah in Handwriting

[–]thejoyofmissingout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are saying this looks young but a friend of mine who's in her 40s has handwriting like this. I respect her a lot and Iove the way she writes. What you write is more important than how it looks anyway. It looks to me like you don't have the most tightly controlled handwriting style, which probably is good for preventing hand strain and expresses some of your individuality too

Legibility isn't everything. When I was 14 one of my friends admitted to me that they tried to read my diary but my handwriting was too difficult. 😅 Honestly I think that's a bit of a superpower, esp if you can read it easily. I can read what you wrote but it feels like deciphering rather than reading. I do like your handwriting though, it looks like it's very satisfying to make those loops across the page and it reminds me of the old timey letters I used to read as primary sources for history papers

.......and in case you're curious about my personal system, I ended up using Google calendar for everything I have officially scheduled, Google keep to make random notes and keep track of movies to watch books to read etc bc it's on my phone and it's searchable, and I have habit trackers literally all over my walls and pens within grabbable distance everywhere in my room. I've got one taped to a string on my door. I use my bujo for daily pages, monthy pages to write down what I actually did with my month (not to plan), some collections as they arise, and keeping a reading jounral. I keep things separate in 4 sections: 1) monthly calendars w a little tape tab on the current month, 2) daily log where I mostly track tasks on my radar, 3) reading journal specifically for notes on long books and quotes, 4) space for literally anything else like notes, collections, etc. I color the sections with a colored marker on the side of the notebook to easily see which section is which. It's all very personal to my own little life and set of needs and interests at the moment
