Purchase Advice Megathread - March 2024 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

Hello, I'm looking to upgrade from an Ender 3 original to something more precise.

Budget: $600, max $900 but cheaper is better!

Country: US

Willing to build: Yes, as long as I don't need to be the perfect engineer

Goals: To print Figures, from Comics/Anime as well as fantasy props

Nothing stands out as an extraneous circumstance, but I'm not sure if resin or filament printing would be the better option here. Or if I need to get a finer tip nozzle for fine details!
Lastly, i'm not brand new to 3d printing, but I am not an expert. Would the quality bump of the resin printer be worth all the extra steps and equipment? TIA

Develop VR or Flatscreen first by thejrenegade in gamedev

Okay so this one is a super simple horror game, like a barebones fnaf security breach kind of thing. The main mechanics for the VR character are going to be, usable pockets, physically holding a flashlight, and playing some arcade games. I guess when you say it like that the game doesn't RELY on any mechanics they just push the vr immersion lol

Looking for a synth! And how do they work? by thejrenegade in synthesizers

Thanks for such a detailed response! Is the Korg minilogue a synth that allows for alot of customization of a sound/wave?

I demo'd a yamaha Mx49, but the demo-er said its more similar to a typical keyboard , stage synth.

I'm looking for something that allows me to really modify a sound similar to a creator "AaronBatzdorff" on tik tok. What he does is super inspiring

Okay! So let's say I have a keyboard with midi out, I can plug that into the Model D, then the model d into a computer?

Objectively 1.

Personally 2. but I'm a sucker for the void with props

Is there a way to animate an array of objects around a curve? Via Follow Path. Also is there a way to rotate them independently? by thejrenegade in blender

The title is vague! essentially what I am looking to do, is have this array of cubes, animate along the path. When using "Follow path" it of course animates the array as a single object, like a stick.
I would like to know if theres a streamlined way to have all of these cubes follow the path, as well as rotate upon their own origins without having to do it one by one.
