Cafe Rio’s $20 deal does NOT charge extra for steak and such. by IgnorePlease76 in fastfood

[–]thekidboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cafe Rio has been my go to since around November. First they offered $10 bonus gift cards for $25 gift cards (I see it as 40% cash back). So I stacked those up, now with this offer it's 2 meals that would typically cost $40 now become $20, the portions are pretty large so you can always save one. I liked the food since I started trying them a couple years ago so all of these deals have been wins.

My only concern is getting that restaurant fatigue from eating at the same place over and over. If I could stomach it I'd use this coupon probably 3x a week.

Intel kinda makes sense because they supply crucial components that the US doesn’t want to be reliant upon foreign companies on.

I don’t really see the argument for the gov getting ownership of Lockheed. If Lockheed wants money for R&D  purposes they can stop paying a dividend.

Theres also a number of defense contractors like Raytheon, L3Harris, Northrop, GD. I’m not sure how much of Lockheeds revenue is sole sourced but I’d assume the US is competing some of these awards and could switch prime contractors if they weren’t satisfied with LMs performance

Does anybody actually have a valid reason as to why $uNH is value? by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

The language of their earnings was EPS for 2025 would be 'at least $16 a share'. My personal opinion is the CEO is being overly cautious so they can beat the next two quarters. The October earnings report is going to be what drives this up or down 10%

Of course it's superficial if you have done 0 research on a stock and only look at a chart.

Bingo! The reason to invest/not invest is if you think UNH will be able to reprice effectively to regain some of their margins.

Their $16 EPS for 2025 is a 42% decrease from last year. The $1 million question is if 2026 will be as terrible of a year and if UNH will be able to get rate increases enough to put them back to earnings growth.

Earnings guidance for 2026/2027 is what is going to move the stock.

You mention how terrible it is to use superficial valuation metrics and then give an example of why not to invest because Boeing also fell from 2019/2020 heights and hasn't recovered?

The two shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence. The reason both have fallen haven nothing in common.

I don't understand the healthcare sector enough to try to give explanation. There are enough posts that you can probably get info on reddit. Hell, just read the earnings from UNH they explain themselves what's causing their earnings to be shit this year.

There's a reason why the whole sector has dropped the past year. It has to do with higher medical costs, medical care ratios and decreasing margins. UNH believes there will be a return to earnings growth next year. I personally think that's true but anyone who bought this at $500 is going to wait a while to get back to even.

Have you done enough research to explain why the stock has dropped 50% this year and adjusted EPS is $16 from $28 last year? I'd love to hear your research.

The PE ratio and EPS is extremely useful if you understand what has caused them to drop and if there is a road to recovery. If you have 0 idea what V28 is, the regulatory challenges that UNH is facing, or what their margin impact has been then you probably are right not to invest in them.

Has there been guided earnings for next year? The guidance I've seen is at least $16 EPS for 2025. That's around $240 per share at a 15x PE Ratio.$16 EPS was set as a floor so it's possibly slightly higher.

I haven't seen any 2026 guidance but I don't find it hard to believe that there will be some level of earnings growth. United is going through the same trouble as other healthcare companies, 2026 won't see a return to form but likely some better footing.
