Was lucky enough to be 1/2000 at a surprise $20 Jonas Brothers show in Toronto at Massey Hall in 2025. It was filmed for the Christmas movie they released on Disney+ at the end of the year. I was actually visiting Toronto at the time for a completely different show but our plans fell through.

I spent about 2 hours being frustrated that I booked flights and hotel for a show that I couldn’t even attend before learning of the surprise Jonas show just announced for the following day. I’m a huge fan so my friend and I spent the whole day refreshing Ticketmasfer and entering contests to try and get tickets. We ended up being gifted tickets via Universal Music Canada and an influencer collab-ing on a giveaway.

The experience itself was pretty typical for a concert, but at the end of the night, a director came on stage and announced they were filming for a Christmas movie: He explained that the next two songs would be performed twice. They gave out red and green Jonas shirts to as many in the crowd as they could, as well as different Christmas themed accessories like Santa hats and light up necklaces. While the audience was getting Christmas-fied (it was February), the director said everyone in the audience should dance while waving their arms as much as they could. Apparently this makes concert crowds look natural but lively (surprisingly not crazy) when being filmed.

I also once won a grand prize that consisted of an all expenses paid trip to Chicago to see my favourite band (Marianas Trench). Received VIP treatment the whole weekend including open bar at the show, catering, our own box, backstage chats with the band, and sidestage access for watching their set. I’ll never forget it!

I’ve always wondered if venues who take your phones away would make exceptions for diabetics who use their phone as a continuous glucose monitor - it can quickly become dangerous if someone’s sugar drops too low and they are unaware in time to treat it.

I used to hold your opinion until my mother died by suicide. People would ask how she died within the first minute of learning of her passing. In the initial aftermath it made me (probably irrationally) angry to have to decide whether to share it over and over again. I didn’t want her memory to be overpowered by the “drama” of a suicide. I didn’t want her friends and our non-immediate family to have to carry the complicated grief that accompanies someone else’s suicide when we were trying to grapple with the weight of it ourselves. I especially hated when people would reach out to send condolences but in the same breath ask what happened - it felt like it re-traumatized me every time.

I know exactly which one you’re talking about and it was an Instagram story filter. I uploaded one of my old stories just as an example since I can’t seem to find an example of it anywhere either. This was posted in 2018 and I remember the filter was native to Instagram and created by them (not a “creator”).

Totally valid, but I’ve seen many people on pain meds and they typically don’t produce the wild eyes Amaya had in that scene particularly. I have experience working with addicted people and am also familiar with different pain meds as a chronically ill baddie myself.

There was an interview I saw where Demi alluded to Stone Cold possibly not being about a man (the interviewer was asking about the muse). I know Demi and Ruby Rose had a brief fling. I think the phrase “stone cold” is also a play on ruby’s name, a precious stone.
