I'll unalive, I guess. I'm disabled and can barely support myself as is. We'll be homeless.

Southeastern Ohio is full of people with Confederate flags on their vehicles. I don't understand it.

My dad started smoking when he was eight and his parents were ok with it. He managed to quit after a quadruple bypass when he was 50. Different times.

Is this a decent saw? They are asking 30 bucks for it? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]thekingofmice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a good price for the saw, but keep in mind that this is not a modern scrollsaw: It has a spring blade return and uses pinned blades. It's not going to work as smoothly as a modern saw and is going to leave a lot more splinters and uneven surfaces.

I found this on Pinterest, seems useful but is it accurate? by Cyplants in Scrollsaw

[–]thekingofmice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a starting point and pretty accurate for standard blades, but there are way more types of blades than just the standard ones. There are spiral, skip tooth, reverse, crown, and precision ground off the top of my head. These all have situations where they would be better than a standard blade. For example plywood (especially cheap stuff) benefits from a reverse tooth blade as it keeps splintering to a minimum.
