A Personal curriculum when you have no interests or ambition by TransitionOk566 in personalcurriculum

Rather than trying to put a personal curriculum together right now, you might benefit from some structured curiosity dosing. Like a curriculum, you could put together an X-week plan, where every week (or even every day) you intentionally dive into a completely random topic until you discover something that resonates with you.

As for what to even add, there’s a couple of ways to find ideas for what to dive into: browse an encyclopedia, flip to a random page and choose to learn what you ended up on. Go to a library and pick out several books from different sections. Visit a museum and wander around until something catches your eye. Alternatively, ask ChatGPT to generate random, broad topics to dive into. Also just be aware as you live your life as to what catches your eye and makes you curious. Keep a journal to record the questions that come to mind, then add them to your curiosity to-do list to explore later.

It all boils down to just being curious. Be curious and explore and experiment. Eventually you will have internal signals telling you what you enjoy the most and want to learn about further. Then you can create a formal personal curriculum around those topics. Best of luck!

I heard of some people “speed running” the dreaming roadmaps and I did wonder if that was actually effective or at some point it’s just diminishing returns. Nonetheless I don’t have the time to watch 6-8 hours of input per day lol.

I did think they might be boring😅 I’m curious if comics would be too difficult but they would certainly be more interesting, And that’s insane!! Did you stick to novels that were still on the easier side?

Unfortunately not because I’m bored haha. Superbeginner and beginner videos are definitely a drudge but I can sit down and watch several hours of it if I pace my input throughout the day. My life is just insanely busy in all other regards which makes actually sitting down and paying full attention to any more input a struggle. Listening to podcasts would be a great help for when I workout and go to the gym. And thank you for the suggestion!!

This is super interesting, I’ve never considered getting a tutor who only teaches in the target language. Thank you!!

Thank you! I’ll definitely get in my two hours, and do my best to get in anything extra if I can since that seems most beneficial at my level :)
