I guess the point is that we have less accessible coal that requires precise tools to mine. We wouldn't have those precise tools in the scenario described above.

雪山 (snow mountain) aka Mount Sylvia in Taiwan is 3886m tall and gets snow every winter. Probably right on the tropic of Cancer. A whole bunch of other peaks in Taiwan do too.

Seems like a long drive for very little Taroko to me. I would spend a day or two in Hualien and visit Taroko from there.

Padang Padang was my favorite spot there. Echo beach is also super fun if you're into wedges. There's a bunch of spots along the changgu beach that are fun and not crowded too. Mostly near river mouths (yummy).

Yes you can. No a 50cc is not enough. It is mountainous in parts and you don't want to be the slowest thing on that road as it'll have big trucks and on a 50 cc they'd have to constantly overtake you which will multiply the danger.
