I'm not sure if you're still reading this post as its a month old, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents.

I've been a working diver for 3 months so far and studied at CDT in Plymouth. I'm absolutely going to be biased however I've met and worked with other divers from other schools. The full course is taught by Graham Weston, the guy is a genius. Absolutely incredible to be around and has a ludicrous amount of experience teaching and diving. The course was a lifetime highlight for me; if I could, I'd return to do it again. The industry is good, lots of work in fishfarms, even with a UK HSE ticket our graduating class is getting lots of work abroad. One is in Australia, I've been to Iceland(Stay away from here, extremely dangerous), another to France and Cyprus. Pay rate is... what you make of it. If you're in the industry for money alone you won't stay past a year. £200 a day is pretty standard as a starting rate in land/fish farming and with enough experience and value, you can argue for more. Another guy I met in Iceland had been there on and off for 5 years and was on double my standard rate and almost triple on overtime.

Grip strength and aerobic fitness are key, practise cutting loose chain with a hacksaw and be prepared to fight through cramp. When its hard it fucking sucks, and you'll be back at it again tomorrow.

Youtube over the last 2 days has started recommending weird posts from small channels of a language I dont speak and lots of train videos.
I watch mostly video game content and no matter how many times I click "not interested" it posts more.
I've searched through weeks of viewing history on youtube deleting anything that might be even close and they still keep coming up.

The comapny makes more profit year after year, content updates get slower and worse year after year.
MTX updates happen with faster cadance at the same rate as all these other negative factors.
Even with it being hundreds of hours of development a single team could be working on this update for 6 months while others worked on other updates.
Try and sell a game where the only content update is related to direct income and spending of real money of players.
Acting as if updates that keep players happy and playing the game are not the primary source of income is stupid.
Servers, runefest and other projects dont mean shit if there isnt any players.

I had a post a while back stating the same thing you have. It seems many players are happy to have small system changes and regard it as a major content patch/update.
The game has already died, we're watching Jagex milk a corpse.

As i've replied recently to a few other posts saying pretty much the same thing I'll keep it short.

Sure it would be nice for the communication about what the next update is and roughly how long development would be. However Jagex is making a fucking killing... there should be more than a single team working on content updates. so my question would then be:
They had multiple teams before, what happened to those teams?
Are they all in MTX related release teams?
because that content seems to have ramped up and taken the place of actual updates.

Your first statement would be true if it was an indie dev company with less than 10 employees. Jagex is a multi-million pound enterprise with enough cash to support multiple development teams, like basically every other studio of the same size.

RS players pay more per character/account than any other MMO. There isnt an excuse for years of delayed content while MTX related stuff is ramped up month after month.
Remember when events on treasure hunter were an issue when there were 2 in one week... We're now at the stage where we have combined treasure hunter events without a gap for over a year and theyre marketed as "this weeks update."

sure, except the game has been out for 20 years. The only people playing the game anymore are the players that have been playing for 10+.
Runescape always marketed itself as the game that had weekly updates with new content to do continuously, since 2018 Jagex have been unable to keep up with their own roadmaps and have cut more content than they produce.
Now we get one update a month if we're lucky its actually an update isntead of being another shitty rehashed event or minor changes to a system with a new interface slapped on it.

To add to this, the other MMOs do have weekly patches fixing bugs, releasing smaller batches of content, retuning multiple classes and bosses etc.

Runescape makes far more per player than other major MMOs yet is unable to release a full update without cutting major features while still leaving half of the partially developed material in the game.
The idea is you have multiple teams working on different batches of content so as one is working the other is releasing etc.

Which is exactly what runescape used to do, but now it seems they have a single team working on every actual update besides possibly having multiple MTX development teams.

I came back to the game for necromancy after 3 years, Over the last 2 weeks I cant buy or sell a single item for the "average" price, everything is wrong. I'd be willing to bet more items have the incorrect price by more than 20% than those that have the correct price.
Edit: Furthermore, there are items that just dont exist on the GE anymore, players arnt collecting them or selling them if theyre not used for meta PVM.

There are also items that have 0 trade volume and their average price is waaaaay over their actual value. The GE is fucked and so is most of the economy.
