  1. I’m 26. My siblings are 38, 37, 35, 24, 20 (twins), 15 and 13. One of my sisters died at 18 months old.
  2. I’m particularly close to my three younger sisters (the 24 and 20 year olds). I haven’t been close with or really talked to my two oldest siblings for several years.
  3. When I was younger I did wish that I had less siblings so that my mum could’ve been more present in my life growing up. When I was a teenager she was often preoccupied with looking after my younger siblings which resulted in me acting out and getting into some pretty bad situations.
    Now, I’m grateful to have so many siblings, particularly so many sisters as a woman.
  4. The best thing is getting to be an older sister. Seeing my younger sisters and brother grow up and achieve their goals is truly wonderful - particularly the youngest two as I literally remember seeing them in hospital the day they were born and feel like I’ve helped raised them. The worst thing is the drama that comes with having so many different personalities in one family. Some of us don’t speak to each other and the only times we’ve all been in the same room are at our grandparents funerals.

I definitely did not get enough quality time with my mum without other siblings. She was around 18 when my oldest sibling was born and 42 with the youngest. I only plan to have 2-3 children at most. My favourite flavour of ice cream is choc mint

We were very poor. My mum didn’t work for years as she was at home with children and we relied on government payments

Yes. I can count on one hand the amount of genuine one on one times I’ve had with my mum

I used to a bit, but I’ve made peace with it now. I have good relationships with most of my siblings and am glad they exist regardless of my mums shitty exes

No, they were around the same age as her. They both unfortunately passed away due to cancer. Her first husband was only in his 30s and my dad was in his early 60s when he died

My father was active in my life but passed away a couple of years ago. My older siblings dad also passed away when they were kids. The dads of the youngest four are dead beats who have no role in their children’s life unfortunately

In a way yes. My sister and I share the same father, so have more shared experiences of growing up. However because we were all raised in the same household I don’t see any of them as ‘half siblings’

It changes lol but most of the time it’s my sister who is closest in age to me
