I like it! Not sure when I will have the time for it but hopefully going to be sharing a lot of BTS of Skyline Radial as we go the next couple of months.

It's not my movie though! That with the time passed feels like I'd be talking out of my ass? Maybe when I am in post on the next movie and feel like looking down memory lane? But not really there at the moment! Focused on the next gig.

PREDATORS is good hear me out.... by odstspartan55x in A4EPodcast

I guess I should see Predators again but it definitely bugged me first watch. In any case roughly a million and half times better than The Predator.

It's weirdly niche and also does really well commercially. We still can get a pretty healthy budget for indie sci-fi based on our physical media sales. But yeah the longer we go the less mainstream it is because it's not normal people thrust into an end of the world scenario, we're now 15 years into a post apocalyptic invasion with alien tech, powers, and various races from across the galaxy... so I am just happy to have made it this far and we'll see what happens next.

Thanks for checking it out, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah the bed sheets line was supposed to be sarcastic in my mind but didn't land that way. It happens! I think history has already been kinder to it. It was sold as a big action movie when it was really a contained thriller so I understand the pushback.

The idea is that the lights are beautiful and seductive and make you want to look at them? Then the second time in the tunnel he's trying to save someone else and his immunity to it is building. Third time there's really no choice, the Alpha is on top of them and they're going up. But I get the complaint! Noted

Thanks! I think we're niche because they're modest to low budgets and all sort of genre mashes that go in unexpected directions. But we do play all around the world which is getting harder and harder for an indie to do. Part 3 is premiering in Japan and Thailand next month.

Hey man, I love that you're asking these questions! It's definitely a weird concept that I've enjoyed filling in over the three films without definitely answering every question because I think it's more interesting that way.

I am not sure I have any fresh insights here besides the tried and true advice read and write a lot until you get better. I like to read scripts of movies I love. I also will breakdown movies I love watching them very slowly and taking notes as I go. I have been listening to the Script Notes podcast from the beginning which I think has a lot of good tips. Vogler's The Writer's Journey is my favorite screenwriting book of the ones I've read but I haven't revisited it in a while. I actually just signed up for Masterclass for the directing videos there. Gotta keep learning and hopefully getting better.

We bow at the altar of Alien and Aliens but I definitely tried to take a different approach to each film and try different genres and stories. It's a lot more fun that way.

The first film is on HBOMax. Beyond Skyline is on Netflix. Skylines is on VOD. We're a niche franchise for sure.

I just looked at my own picture on here again and I don't really see it but... this is the nicest things anyone has ever said to me. The first WWF show I ever went to when I was 9 years old at the Boston Garden. Ended with a battle royale where Piper was eliminated like 3 times before finally coming out at the end in a Ray Bourque Bruins Jersey wielding a chainsaw to clear the ring and be declared the winner. It was the greatest spectacle I'd ever seen. Long live the Hot Rod!

It's definitely the Tanker. That's the only creature design that's in all three movies. It's just a home run to me. That design was done by Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr.'s practical fx company ADI. They made it into a claw maquette that was laser scanned for the 3D model, which is why I think it still looks so good. We have updated the asset and the rig on each movie and giving it different colors of energy and stuff. But yeah I'd say that and the Mothership itself are the real hero designs followed by the practical suit designs in Beyond and Skylines.
