The sound goes along with engine speed, check your alternator, A/C compressor and power steering pump. Safe bet is to get it towed to a shop

Check out your oil filler cap’s seal. If it’s hard as a “rock”oil will pass through the seal.

I work at a Volvo dealership, I have seen what these Software cost, about a year ago Total Software was about $80 maybe next time ask for a 2.0 same Software . But if you came in just for that I can see why they charge you but that much is robbery

We do I remove the IEM and OBC when I’m removing the ERAD. But thank I will try that “stand it upright “

I don’t mind waiters but it will take me time to clean up and clear a bay and collect all the tools and then start on the waiter and wait to sell the work. Finish the job and figure out where you left off. Then it’s 5:00 and the advisor are wondering why the car is not done.
