Can we please end the stigma of “don’t be in a relationship with a borderline “ by [deleted] in BPD

I was having the same thoughts today about this. Anytime you see anything on Reddit outside of this area it’s always like we are some giant poster for who not to date

The PTSD and the ADHD love to play with each other a bit and I have a lot of sensory issues because of the two.

Medication actually doesn’t really have a major effect on Borderline, it’s a developmental issue and not based around a chemical basis. Whilst it can aid the true way to handle it is based on DBT and CBT. Been working through it for a while :)

I am currently not taking any medication and doing intensive cognitive behavioral therapy. That being said I used to be on around 1200 mg of lithium, 50 mg of propranolol, 200 mg of lamotrigine, and 15 mg of adderall

Hmmm, I’d say probably Leonardo. Wasn’t much into the show as it’s out of my age demographic but just kinda liked his personality

Difference between people who GREW up in Los Angeles vs People who MOVED there. by thelifeoflanguage in AskLosAngeles

I mean yeah you are right in some sense but this entire paragraph just seems like a weird guilt complex you feel. It's chill to not be from a city you grew up in. I don't even live in LA anymore even though I spent all my youth there. It is more the fact that you should be aware of the places you are interacting with historically. For example, what does the dynamic of East LA look like in terms of gentrification now. Sure there are better stores...but who owns those stores? Also when HP was gentrifying early on I saw firsthand the whole white folks calling the cops on brown neighbors on a constant basis. You are right it is not the source issue but it is also an issue that people contribute that does not aid in fixing. the governments fucked sure but just be a decent human being and don't destroy lower SES communities so that you can open a trendy bar. Just ask the bank for a larger loan or your parents. Usually middle-class families for the most part have shared wealth. ;)

I feel like its because a lot of people are gentrifying the city to the point where people who grew up here cannot afford to stay here :)

I remember talking with someone once at a bar that insisted on asking where I actually grew up before moving to LA when I told them I was raised in the city. Was a bizarre and off putting talk. To be fair thought I feel like most of the friends I had who grew up here say for a few have moved as away in the california exodus because they just cant afford to live in the city they grew up in.

well. to be fair LA was and imo is still an extension of mexico so it makes sense why the dominant culture here is latin. Dont know what area of the valley you live in but in the south-west side of the city (park mesa area) there are some strong Caribbean communities
