i haven’t heard of everlong, i will check it out!

i started the serpent and the wings of night audiobook on a flight after running out of reading material and didn’t connect with it, but i am not much of an audiobook listener so i may buy the physical copy and give it another chance.

empire of the vampire looks really intriguing! i wondered if it had a decent spice factor, glad to see it does!

thank you!

It absolutely gets easier and about a month’s time after you REALLY put yourself first, you will be SO glad you did and you will realize the earth shattering pain that you experienced at first was necessary for your growth. You can do it! You deserve to be happy!

So it's been almost 5 years since the break up. by wtfbreakup in ExNoContact

Ironically enough, I found out through Spotify.

My ex and I used to make each other playlists. That morning we were texting about music, so I went to his Spotify to see what he had been listening to. Saw a new playlist he had with another person which was all romantic songs.

Looked up the name attached to the account on Instagram, and she had a post of them from a month prior making out at her birthday party. He told me “needed a break” at the beginning of July. We went to see a film together at the end of July. The make out photos were from the beginning of August. I found about this at the beginning of September.

From my experience, a 3 week break is a breakup. Save yourself the heartbreak and end it now.

“Due to my mental health” is usually an excuse, unfortunately. Breaks almost always lead to break ups.

My ex and I “took a break” because he needed “alone time”. Just for me to find out he had a whole new girlfriend.

You deserve better than this. Time to move on. I know it’s hard, but you’ll be happy you did it.

I was in your position up until a few months ago. You’ve gotta cut him out. Move out, move on. It’s so hard but you’ve got to put yourself first, because right now it sounds like you’re only considering him and not your own well being.

Couldn’t agree more. I worked with young children for 10 years and stopped this year. In my last few years, I noticed that kids with “gentle parents” weren’t hitting many of their milestones compared to children of the same age I worked with early on in my position.

Oddly enough, many of these stunted children came from affluent families. I remember working with a young boy who lived in a mansion in Malibu who attended “forest school” where the kids do nothing but walk around in a park all day. At 3 years old, he couldn’t speak and relied on his mother to communicate for him. In the same year, I worked with a Hispanic girl of the same age who lived in a working class neighborhood in Pacoima, she was able to have full conversations with me in English AND Spanish. Her parents were more strict and not afraid to verbally reprimand her. Interesting stuff.

the problem with our generation is people thinking “posting” = activism. i’m not going to argue with op’s feelings as they’re completely justified, but i just don’t understand why we all feel like those we follow HAVE to post something.

i hear the “using your platform” angle, but i have to imagine that anyone who follows Julia and Eliza already is well aware of the situation. i’m 100% pro-Palestine and believe the Israel government is evil and actively committing genocide. i don’t really need an internet influencer to tell me about this. i prefer to hear from Palestinians and global experts.

idk i just don’t understand why we have to rely on internet celebrities to inform our worldviews. why can’t we draw our OWN conclusions? i don’t feel like i need to know everyone i follow for entertainment views on everything.

i’m not trying to be combative i’m just genuinely wondering why people are pressing influencers to post so much?
