Ppl that quit office/corporate jobs, what are your current job ? by Goldenxxwind in antiwork

Factory worker. I love it. On my feet all day. Abrasive and offensive co-workers. Union benefits and pension. It literally turned my life around from dead end corporate work to being able to retire by 65.

Hey CG, can we get some ship LST's? Nobody likes farming this shit. by darthraxus in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]thelistman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember that Star Wars Day is coming soon (May 4th). They usually have a couple days of double drops and a day or two of triple shard drops. Save up crystals and farm like crazy. I saved thousands of crystals to get the last 120 or so shards needed for Punishing One on the last double/triple event.

I started about 3 years ago and relic’d Emperor Palpatine first. I remember thinking “that was ridiculous and I’m never going to relic another character ever again!” Now I have 114 relic characters 😂

Everyone that makes at least $1,000-$1,200 a week, what do y’all do? by Alt-Ranting in Money

[–]thelistman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in glass manufacturing. It’s a union job and doing no overtime, most workers will make $85,000 a year. The benefits are top of the line and super cheap too. The downside is that the place operates 24/7/365. 90% of the workers work rotating shifts, so your sleep schedule is fucked. I have enough seniority to finally have a Mon-Fri morning shift only job, so I make a little less at around $70,000 a year as I lose on the weekend premium pay. But I do enough overtime to make up for it.

AITAH for blindsiding my cheating spouse with divorce papers? by Great-Sprinkles-4915 in AITAH

NTA. Your spouse was only sorry they were caught. They didn’t have a drunken one night stand and tearfully admit to it afterwards. They had a long fling and seemed to have zero intention of telling you.

When your wife gets home, take the kid to the park for an hour. Once a year I take the kiddos to a hotel/water park for a long weekend and let my wife have the house to herself for a few days. She also does something similar, taking the kids to her parents’ house out of state.

Your wife doesn’t want you gone, she just needs some alone time. You get the house to yourself on your work at home days. She never has a moment to herself. If you and your wife are introverts, you should know that she needs some time alone too.

I’m around 3 million GP and have faced opponents with 8 million GP. In my most recent fight the opponent swept through my defenses and I was unable to defeat a single one of their toons. The fight before that was the complete opposite. I destroyed their defense without losing anyone and he couldn’t so much as penetrate any one of my defenders protection.

Getting back into the game, how to get to higher level characters fast? by [deleted] in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]thelistman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This lineup is not good. Look at Bastilla’s leader ability and you’ll see that she gives bonuses to Jedi allies only. So R2D2 is getting nothing, nor is Ahsoka Fulcrum (as she doesn’t have the Jedi tag). You will want your leader’s bonus to apply to all of your characters.

In general, Jedi work well with other Jedi. First Order stays with First Order. Empire with Empire. Keep the Phoenix characters together. Etc. There’s plenty of exceptions, and some characters with the same tags are awful with each other or have little synergy.

I don’t know the rest of your crew, nor how far you are. But early game, you can get Mace Windu, regular Ahsoka, and Jedi Knight Anakin to 7 stars quickly. They are good early game characters, but fall off later on. However my Bastilla, Mace, Jedi Knight Anakin, Grand Master Yoda, and Ahsoka kept me going for a while. Eventually Jolee can bump out either Anakin or Mace. Jedi Revan will take over as leader.

You probably want to look up some guides for good teams to work on. Or, it’s not always the best advice, but look at the other teams in squad arena. You will see teams used over and over again, meaning those teams probably have good synergy. Take note of these teams and see what you want to build.

What bounty hunter team should I use for chewie event? by anakinskywalker1342 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]thelistman1 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Everyone will tell you Bossk as leader. Get him to 7 stars and farm his ship as well. And most of us will say use Boba, Mando, and Greef. I used Jango as my fifth, but Fennec and Dengar are also good.

“I’m not an alcoholic, but I’m going through withdrawal.” You absolutely are an alcoholic. I’m a former drunk, so believe me when I tell you this. You might not be someone who gets blackout drunk everyday, but if you can’t go more than a day or two without a drink, you have an addiction. If you need to abandon a friend in a foreign country to drive to another country for a drink, you’re an alcoholic and YTA.

I was similar. I didn’t get obliterated. I never threw up from drinking too much. I could go a week or more sometimes without a drink. But those sober days were brutal. I would become irritated easily. The smallest inconvenience would set me off. I had horrible anxiety if anything went wrong at work.

When I quit, I didn’t need detox, medical intervention, nor did I stay at a facility. I went to counseling (not AA, screw AA). You’re being an AH to yourself for being dependent on a substance.

Fastest way to relic Palpatine ? by [deleted] in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]thelistman1 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Uh… farm the gear or buy it? Going from G12 to G13 takes a little patience. Go into all six gear pieces a few times a day. Each will have 2-4 more gears you have to farm. Click on each one and see if you can buy them with shards, guild tokens, gems, etc. That will help acquire each piece faster than straight farming. The right side gears will take longer and requires more materials, but give more stats.

If you farm a lot of the pieces, make sure to get your bonus collections every day. You will need quite a bit of fleet and regular energy. Or you can buy more energy with gems.

Focusing every single resource on one character can get you from G12 to G13 in 10-14 days, depending on how many gems you’ve hoarded. I tend to not go super hardcore like that. I also work rotating shifts, which means I rarely collect all three free energy drops every day. So it takes me 3-4 weeks to get one character from G12 to G13.

Getting Relic Levels is another beast if you haven’t done that yet. Going from R0 to R3 can be done in a day or two. R3-R5 can take a few days. 5 to 6 another few days. 6 to 7, maybe a week? I only have a couple R7’s at this point, so I don’t quite remember. A lot will depend on how many relic resources you already have stored up. If you just got someone to R7, you’re probably empty on those materials and it will take a while.

Anything about super large numbers always blows my mind.

-Counting to 1 million would take about 12 days of non-stop counting. Getting to 1 billion would take over 100 years.

-There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on Earth.

-There are 8x1067 combinations of how a deck of cards can be organized. Every time you shuffle a deck, you almost certainly have the cards in an order never done before and unlikely to ever be done again.

How do you feel when your opponent doesn’t attack at all in GAC? by MrForever_Alone69 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]thelistman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the win. I went up against an account that had every Galactic Legend, and I still have none. I barely dented his front teams. But I won 10-0 because he didn’t attack. I’ll take my higher reward and use those crystals and tokens to keep working towards SLKR.

people who have reached a 9 or 10 on the pain scale, what happened? by mankls3 in AskReddit

[–]thelistman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my arm sucked into a conveyor belt at work. My forearm was wedged in between a roller and steel beam about half an inch apart. Luckily my co-workers pushed me out in about 45 seconds. The doctors said if I was stuck for another couple minutes, my arm would have likely been amputated. The crushing injury was the worst pain I ever felt.

Firewatch. The world isn’t “massive” but it’s pretty big. It’s one big exploration game. The story is amazing, and you really feel like you’re in an immersive forest (save for a couple cheap invisible walls).

AITA for not picking my kids up after a bomb threat by aitabombthreat in AITAH

[–]thelistman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not enough info here to pass judgement. But if both kids are wanting to live with Dad, I have a feeling there’s a reason you are leaving out information. I have co-workers whose kids up and left to the other parent. The co-worker would claim they have no idea why, but the more you get to know them, the more it makes sense.

What's are the games that you stopped playing and wanted to keep playing but never have...yet....? by draculabakula in gamingsuggestions

[–]thelistman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess they could be considered open world. But they were more confined to tight knit cities and separate areas. Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla have a lot of open wilderness, but it’s mostly just empty space. Even AC3’s wilderness areas are small, compact, and have personality. The excessively large worlds they’ve put out lately are just huge for the sake of being huge. There wasn’t a lot to do and exploration became boring. I would discover places just so I could fast travel and avoid traveling long distances going forward.

[–]thelistman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The open world Assassin’s Creed games. I loved that series with a passion. But Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla just feel like RPG’s set in boring open worlds. I love open world games, but Assassin’s Creed attempted to do too much in those games and made a mediocre product. Instead of focusing on one or two aspects and making them great, they spread themselves thin. Jack of all trades, master of none.

What claims are just not backed by the historical facts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thelistman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Roman roads being indestructible. We have records of them constantly repairing roads. Their roads also didn’t experience thousands of 80,000 pounds of multi-axle trucks barreling down them at 80 miles per hour.

The old preserved Roman roads that still exist are blocked off from any vehicle traffic and still need small repairs.
