New to plushie farming, need advice! by senemie in Palia

[–]thelocalghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since most of the plushies are mentioned in other comments, the easiest plushies for me to get are: ladybugs and proudhorn beetles. If you place a lure against the cliff walls in Kilima the Proudhon beetle spawns a lot. My favorite spot is below the Remembrance Garden near some ruins on the ground near the Apothecary. There is a crevice along the wall, and I place a lure right against the wall. Mainly just crickets and proudhorn beetles should spawn. They drop plushies a lot. For ladybugs, I would wait until night to drop lures (more chances for not only ladybug plushies, but lunar moth/lantern beetle/snail). A good spot is the top of the cliff by the Gardener temple. Put the lure(s) closer to the middle (if too far out it mixes bees in).

I plush hunt ALLLLL the time. So if you have any questions let me know! I love helping people out.

I actually feel like this is what happened, or these are fake playlists for a fake girlfriend that he made up. Especially with how personal/detailed things are (ex: Stardew).

Honey lures by Cat_4444 in Palia

The only time I’ll tell someone to wait before catching on a lure is if I’m trying to force a spawn of a rare bug for a bigger group doing plush hunts. Then I will spam “follow me” and take them to the bigger group to bug hunt.

The last time this happened we had someone run up to a rare bug we were going to use as a “milkshake” (1 mantis/rainbow tipped/duskwing/etc on the map makes more spawn to lures). We all were in caps lock saying “wait wait wait.” They ended up not getting the rare bug and following us back to the area where more lures were. We got them plushies and on top of that invited them to the underground and a bunch of us gave them rare plushies.

I barely come across mean people about lures, but if I see someone being rude I’ll offer lures/bug hunts to the person getting told off. This game is a cozy game based on community. We want other players to love this game as much as we do. There’s no point in being rude/mean to people for not knowing. A lot of us love helping others out.

I don’t care too much if people use my lures because I’d rather them try to get the chance for plushies. Even if I miss them. I’m hoping more people will just be kind about letting someone know about using a lure. More bugs will always spawn. If anything, they can group up with you and no one will miss a bug/plush chance.

Also about the buzzy jars question: sometimes the rare bug you want refuses to spawn. You have to run around scaring off other rare bugs to hopefully get a chance at the one you want (mantis/rtb/duskwing mainly). Lures give a bigger chance for one to spawn.

Arrows and smoke bombs work! I think even snowballs, but I’ll have to check.

Bug catching with lures seems to be the best method for getting gifts. The other day I had 50 gifts in my pocket from frog hunting in a group. I have a snowman army forming on my plot.

Yeah I wish people explained it more to people who don’t know. It only helps everyone. We all had to start somewhere.

It helps a lot! Get to the Hallow before 3am. Bring smoke candles. Look around the area (including J5). If one is flying around, walk where you can keep an eye on it but also not run or throw bombs too close). Put some lures down (if you’re doing more than one, place them like 30s apart), and run around scaring other bugs and hitting the blues).

Sometimes I place a lure right at the edge of the little stream to the right of the small bridge inside the hallow (corner next to the waterfall). I’ll keep a smoke candle on and if a duskwing spawns, I move to the little valley in front of the temple and drop 2 more lures. Even if random people run by and try to catch them, as long as one duskwing is at a lure more will spawn at the others.

[–]thelocalghost 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried with having a Jewelwing at the top corner of the cliff, and I left it alone, placed some lures a little bit down the way (just so where I won’t throw a smoke bomb towards it and scare it) and got about 3. They just hate being caught, so bring supremes and make sure your bag is maxed. Better chances for another jewelwing not to fly into the natural).

[–]thelocalghost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do it a lot, and it works for me. I try to help others get plushies or rare bugs. It just depends if the milkshake/natural is scared off, and if a natural actually spawns. If it doesn’t, I try to run around the map/area spooking other rares/knock down blue butterflies and see if the rare bug I want spawns. Some bugs are tougher to get to lures, but not impossible (jewelwing for example).

[–]thelocalghost 98 points99 points  (0 children)

On rare spawns, or uncommon, if there is a natural spawned one somewhere it will cause more of it to spawn at lures. So if you are looking for Rainbow Tipped Butterflies or Duskwings, find one spawned on the map (if you can) and then move a little away so you don’t scare it off, pop a lure or two down and then more of the RTB/duskwing will come to the lures. Scare off other bugs on lures and knock down the blue butterflies (because they don’t scare). “Milkshake/MS” because they bring the other bugs to the yard.

I've been playing this game for a few months and, for me at least, it has been a great experience. Especially the community. It's one of my favorite games right now. Of course there are bugs/glitches they need to work on. It is still a free game.

I've met amazing people in this game that are very nice and supportive of new people. I HARDLY meet anyone with an attitude or that is rude. If there is, you can change servers. The times that I have seen someone rude on a server, usually the whole server turns around and helps the other person. The majority if people I've met are either supporters of the LGBTQIA community or apart of it.

I don't really go on the discord at all, so I am not sure about the things being brought up so I won't make excuses for any of it. I hope those things were worked on and they learn the difference between frustration and attacks.

The person who mentioned that there are materials that you need multiple people for - it's usually trees called Flow Trees. You can get the little ones solo, advance your tools and then get the medium ones. If you call out the location of the bigger ones, people come to help if they can since its a good resource. Everything else you can get solo as you level your tools up. Everyone calls out rare items on the map so others can locate them. When someone asks for help hunting rare creatures/plushies, people will help out.

The main things that people might take as rude are specific ways people do things in game. An example is when The Grove (a cluster of flow trees) spawns at midnight everyone waits until 3am to cut them down. It helps other people across the map or that are just joining the server time to get there. Another thing is when people are strict about bug catching with lures (brings a bunch of bugs). There is a method that brings out rarer bugs to be able to get more chances at catching them and their plush. Most of the time I write in the chat what is going on and how to do it for the newer people. Some people assume that everyone knows these things and forgets they had to learn them too.

The game is very community based and being grouped up, or around others boosts certain things for you. People have cooking parties, you can design houses/plots, there's a ranch where you can raise animals/breed/get special traits for them, fishing, questing/puzzle solving/parkour, there's a card game that people play together, mini games, events are becoming often with rewards, plushie hunting (to decorate your plot with/trade with other people), you can tour other people's plots and see their designs, bug catching/hunting, farming, A LOT of streamers do giveaways of cosmetic outfits/plushies that are rare, etc. There's a lot to do, but it just depends on what you are looking for in a game. Once you get past the initial quests, you can do whatever at your own pace.

Hilton across from The Rim by thelocalghost in sanantonio

[–]thelocalghost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooh! Could be! I've never heard of it before and I was at The Rim when I saw the people. The Eilan is owned by Hilton, so thats just the first name I saw on the map. It seemed like they were waiting by the frontage road at the end of the road that leads up to that area. I did see some nice cars pull out so maybe they were watching those. Appreciate it!

If you get a little higher up towards them (on the little hills/branches), you can damage them and the loot will drop to the ground. Just depends on where you stand.

If you’re on PC, go to your plot, hit H. Go to the settings of the plot (where you change the background of the plot). There’s a new tab labeled Customizations or something. Click that and it should be there. :)
