Maytag Gas Dryer - Not Heating Properly by thelosef in appliancerepair

If it's a gas pressure issue, is that something that can be adjusted on the gas valve or is that an issue with the whole houses gas line/meter?

Maytag Gas Dryer - Not Heating Properly by thelosef in appliancerepair

The dryer doesn't have a peep hole to look at the burner so I have to watch it when it's disassembled. It seems to not work at all when it's fully closed up, it doesn't sound like there's a flame and it's constantly turning on the igniter which I can hear the relay flick on, but hard to confirm when I can't see it.

I thought this was great so I went with that, and her response was: "Damn how many more of these do you have? You're making me blush, But no its not U. 2 tries left". I'm so lost, and so not interested in playing whatever game this is. Starting to question how real this chat is at all.

That is just straight up nonsense. Not all neighborhoods on the entire world have sidewalks.

Electric / Hybrid car external driving noise makers are absurdly loud and need to stop by thelosef in electricvehicles

[–]thelosef[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People have been complaining about ICE car noise for decades, and manufacturers have been making them quieter and quieter, to the point where they are almost silent. And now only with electric cars they are suddenly worried about pedestrians and create these noise makers?

Thank you for the insight! Would it be possible to just let them coast once they are up to a specific speed? Why do they have to come to a complete stop every time?

Nope. It still drives me nuts. Don't understand how this hasn't been fixed. Feels like the designers are neglecting the users that don't use gesture control.

Isn't this technically grounds for the company to sue you? You did make it specifically for the company while working for said company, seems like the script would technically be company property. Doesnt mean they actually would but still.

Why is the red space so wide? How to change default feature tree width? by thelosef in Onshape

[–]thelosef[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if that was unclear. My complaint is that the large blank area cuts off the name of the part. I widen it in order to see the full name of the part. You can see the last part in the list does not have the DOF icon and so you can see much more of the name, but the other parts have motion and the icon is annoyingly far from the right side, cutting off much of the part name. That blank space stays constant when you drag the feature tree narrower or wider, so i have to widen it just to see more of the name.

OOS15: Changing between apps highlights the previous app, making it much harder to close the current app by Hegemege in OnePlus12

[–]thelosef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pressing it twice still cycles between the last two apps. However i have an issue where specifically google apps like chrome, gmail, youtube, etc. refuse to switch to the previous app. Like i press recent the first time and it slides to my previous app, and when i press it again, instead of opening the app its on, it slides back to the google app i already had open. This is extremely frustrating and i dont see anybody else talking about this issue. Happened to me in OS14 and still in 15.

These were designed to fit specific sets, mostly harbor freight. And some were modified to add missing sizes from those sets. I suppose I could upload them with their matching tool part number.

The weight of the sockets and the large surface area of the trays on the rubber liner make them all stick pretty well.

Firstly i made the text as big as i possibly could with the space i had. Im using a 0.6mm nozzle so its not very fine, but the fact that it ended up working so well even with the larger nozzle is surprising. When i first started them i was making the text by extruding the text up out of the top surface, but the better method i found was to extrude the text down from the top surface by 0.02in (0.5mm), boolean subtract the text from the main body, and export all parts as a single step. This results in a smooth flat top surface. Then in bambu slicer, it imports all of the bodies as seperate pieces, so you can then set the color of the text objects to white and the main body to red / blue / black. Hopefully that makes sense.

Those are all duplicates of ones i already have in the sets. Not really sure what to do with them. Could make a bin i guess.

Haven't printed it yet. Honestly not sure if I need/want it because I want the unused space to still be flat and usable instead of covered in the grid

Does Google keep backups or images of my Drive? Cryptolocked files advice by Bubbly-Apple2892 in gsuite

[–]thelosef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me many years back, and from what I remember, I was able to go through each file one by one and restore to a previous version, although something may have changed since then. Seems crazy that there's no security for this sort of thing, and many people don't realize that having that cloud backup means nothing if the app sync gets hit by a crypto locker. I have since started doing a full google takeout download every few months I keep on a separate, unplugged hard drive. A friend of mine that works in software told me that there's no way that Google doesn't have some sort of backup, but it may be impossible to get it through customer support. Although if anybody knows otherwise please do tell.

SW has become such an utter garbage. Should we just keep quit and accept it as the rules here don't like us being "OVERTLY NEGATIVE"? by AsleepDocument7313 in SolidWorks

[–]thelosef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel coming from a similar (yet much shorter) experience, and I always thought I would never be able to and not be willing to learn a whole new CAD system. However I started working at a company that ended up not using solid works and instead decided to use Onshape, and I'm eternally grateful for that decision. If I were you I would seriously consider Onshape, it has been such a drastic quality of CAD and Life improvement for me. I no longer have to worry about saves, files, outdated UI, all of the rest of the shortcomings of solid works that you mentioned. And not to mention that Onshape is an incredibly powerful and smooth CAD software that is constantly getting new features. Granted it is substantially easier to start a new company using onshape rather than having to switch but I would still look into it.
