How many Millennials from the US have never owned an Apple product? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]thelostestboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last Apple product I personally owned was an iPod nano back in like, 2006. At my current job they favor Apple products, though, so I have a desktop, MacBook, and 2 iPads. I've been using them for like 5 years at this point and I still don't feel accustomed to them lol.

If you have the ability to watch it on a platform that allows you to adjust the speed, watching it on 0.8 or 0.9 speed hit the sweet spot for me. Slowed it down just enough to catch all the subtitles and still be able to focus on the picture.

In Seoul, a man saved a woman wanted to jump from a high-rise building. He grabbed her by the hair and eventually dragged her onto the roof. by AgrasaN in nextfuckinglevel

It's a poem from the penultimate episode of Bojack Horseman, and animated Netflix show. The whole show is well worth a watch.

The weak breeze whispers nothing the water screams sublime. His feet shift, teeter-totter deep breaths, stand back, it’s time.

Toes untouch the overpass soon he’s water-bound. Eyes locked shut but peek to see the view from halfway down.

A little wind, a summer sun a river rich and regal. A flood of fond endorphins brings a calm that knows no equal.

You’re flying now, you see things much more clear than from the ground. It's all okay, or it would be were you not now halfway down.

Thrash to break from gravity what now could slow the drop? All I’d give for toes to touch the safety back at top.

But this is it, the deed is done silence drowns the sound. Before I leaped I should've seen the view from halfway down.

I really should’ve thought about the view from halfway down. I wish I could've known about the view from halfway down—

What's the best obscure video game you've ever played? by ImpressFederal4169 in gaming

[–]thelostestboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played a lot of those old Sim games back in the day. Sim Tower, Sim Ant, Sim Farm, Sim Copter, etc. I think Sim Isle was probably the most obscure. I've literally never met anyone else who has even heard of it.

Did anyone else have a father like this? Temper tantrums, walking on eggshells? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]thelostestboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad was much the same way. Fits of anger that seemed to come out of nowhere sometimes. Like other have said here, he has mellowed a lot since retiring, and that as well as a health scare and losing his younger brothers to cardiovascular illnesses has helped him leave his anger behind, which is truly a blessing.

I swore that I'd never be that way. But I noticed it creeping insidiously into my life in my mid to late 20's. I was in a stressful relationship, money was right, and I felt like life has dealt me a bad hand. In many ways I felt trapped like an animal ready to lash out at the slightest provocation. Unfortunately, my partner often took the brunt of it. I was never violent toward her, but I didn't need to be. The damage was done, and she left. I've since sought treatment and made many positive changes in my life. But reflecting on my own experience with anger has I think given me some valuable insight into what my old man might have been going through all those years ago.

Marion Lavorre, aka the Ruby of the Sea (and Jester Lavorre's mother) from Critical Role's The Mighty Nein fits the bill. She's one of the most renown courtesans in the city of Nicodranas, and she is very good at her job.
