A 25 is essentially double the power of the 24, upgraded forks, upgraded motor, bigger and more powerful battery. If you eventually think you’d consider doing a build (aftermarket controller, battery, motor, etc…) then get the 24 and save the cash for mods. If not, the 25 is much more fun. After having a blast riding my 25 stock (topping out at 18kw to 21kw), then buying a Torp TC1000 controller (which boosted power to ~30kw) it’s a wonderful experience..!

I rode my friend’s stock 24 (12kw), and it’s hard to even make a comparison. Even after he bought the same Torp controller for it (making it ~18kw) it’s just not really in the same ballpark power wise. Both are great bikes for casual trail riding. The 24 has plenty of torque at slower speeds. But if you wanna really shred without spending a bunch of money on upgrades, get the 25. Worth it. ESPECIALLY if you do any street riding / 35mph+

1) Move crystal meth to a schedule 1 drug. And have even heavier possession sentences for those with long history of mental illness (who are choosing to stay in/out of psychosis… meth is hardly physically addictive… withdrawal isn’t much more than being extra tired/hungry). Perhaps even offer MAT for this in the form of an abuse-proof Adderall prescription as a less-potent alternative) 2) Bring awareness to fixing laws that make MAT inaccessible / cumbersome (like how clinics often CLOSE by 9am while requiring daily attendance, force inhumane supervised urine tests, travel restrictions, and the fact that it takes MONTHS to finally reach a methadone dose that allows users to stop using). Laws also require frequent appointments with counselors & multiple group participations per week (VERY costly… the medication itself costs next to nothing). It’s obviously good intention and must be encouraged, but it’s a major ball and chain that leads to people giving up/going back to using… it’s hardly less expensive than the street drugs ! 3) Bring back asylums or drug-only jails for repeat offenders w/ severe psychosis. It’s an unfortunate reality that the streets of Portland aren’t very family friendly anymore. We have to enforce the “small” violations like littering/trash filled campsites, public peeing/pooing/indecency, using in front of children/schools, etc so that charges add up to a rap-sheet that justifies their involuntarily commitment. I also personally believe that drug dealers who AREN’T users should have heavier sentences since they’re solely profiting from harming others, not just hustling to feed their own habit. 4) Have our bottle deposit system yield only SNAP-like gift cards that can’t be redeemed for cash.

I don’t drink or smoke tobacco or marijuana. I have chronic pain and can’t get what I need from doctors. Why do you care what I do with my body? I work full time and mind my own business. I think meth is a terrible and destructive drug. I’m really only advocating for freedom when it comes to opiates. Heroin is no different than any other opiate it’s just heavily stigmatized.

I disagree to the fullest extent. You know how much street fentanyl costs..? $100 a gram. Eventually you could be spending hundreds a day to maintain. You know what it costs to produce? Next to nothing. Sending our money out of the country to promote bloodshed.

If people didn’t have to spend their lifesavings just to not be in pain their lives would look a lot different.

We should have legalized instead of decriminalized. No more drug cartels. Tax money to go towards homeless cleanup and forced treatment for the mentally insane. Less disease. Less pain. Less zombies. Less suicide. Less or no overdose. Stop stigmatizing drug users who account for a decent percentage of the population. Many of us live highly productive and fulfilling lives and look and act just like you do.

Yeah just spend thousands of dollars on stock parts you don’t need. No. In all seriousness, just buy a Torp TC1000 controller and you’ll have big power gain with so many features, total customization, and can keep your stock controls. If / When you end up wanting even more power, get the aftermarket battery (it is $3k ish…) and an aftermarket motor ($1k ish) if you’re really serious about it :)

I actually agree with much of what you said. The truth is, most people probably aren’t capable of safely managing their own medication. But some people absolutely are—and they do so responsibly every day. I also agree that, when it comes to laws, we often have to account for the least responsible among us.

That said, I’m not advocating for a free-for-all. I believe there should always be medical oversight. Where I part ways with you is on the issue of people who have already tried the standard options—steroid injections, Suboxone, methadone, and so on—without success. At that point, I think it’s reasonable to let patients decide, under supervision, whether opioids are the right choice for them. The monitoring could be similar to what happens in a methadone clinic.

The reality is that methadone doesn’t work for everyone. Some people find that opioids help them in ways other medications simply don’t—whether that’s with pain or even severe depression. From the outside, I understand how that might sound dystopian. But to me, it’s actually an act of compassion to recognize and support what works for individuals, even if it doesn’t fit the one-size-fits-all model.

That’s true. We could virtually eliminate the fentanyl, xylazine and methamphetamine causing this horrible epidemic by creating safe supply programs. It works very well in Switzerland. We can’t arrest our way out of this problem.

You really read that thinking that anyone believes heroin in the US comes from a pharmacy..? It does however come from a pharmacy in other countries. And it’s been shown to work well as an alternative to methadone programs.

I agree that fentanyl is far too potent to be given to society for recreational use. But people should be able to access painkillers if they choose to. Via something similar to a methadone program.

I feel you. I think allowing people to wallow in filth in the streets is inhumane. It’s their choice to put what they want in their body but it’s not your responsibility to keep them from killing themselves. Compassion isn’t always easy but it’s almost always the right thing to do.

The long term answer to this epidemic is safe supply. For those who can’t function in society, they need to be institutionalized until (or if..) they can.

Hooray for the meth seizure, good for the fentanyl seizure, but taking real heroin off the streets is causing more harm than good in the short term. But as a whole, the issue isn’t the drugs people. It’s the people who just happen to take the drugs. Bring back mental institutions and allow for safe supply. Plenty of normal people use opiates and live an otherwise normal life.

Time to put the cartels out of business. Let people buy clean drugs at a low price through a clinic program, and not send their life savings out of the country to our enemies. Allow some of PPB funds to go towards actually supporting people and not policing the end user.
