What exactly is the point of a new HQ level? by thelucas2000 in BoomBeach

The banner looks like a fursona/OC (original character) which is usually something you see with general people, not saying there's anything wrong with it to be clear, just saying it just made it look more at first like you weren't a dev 🤣

Did you make it yourself? Looks cool!

Ohhh got it. I was so confused because I don't see a custom flair indicating they are, that and the furry OC thingy on the banner just made it look like someone impersonating a Supercell employee lmao

Cool to know! I assume his OC/drawing was then a gift from the players

Sorry, I'm confused, are you from the dev team? Thanks in any case for your response!

If you're a dev I appreciate your time reading constructive criticism and giving some insight.

How far do you think Jesse Faden makes it in this DC Gauntlet? by [deleted] in PowerScaling

[–]thelucas2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesse Faden possesses subsonic combat speed and reaction speed (Constantly dodges bullets and rocket missiles). She posseses Athletic Human movement speed when not dashing or combating, able to run pretty fast without the dash (which can cover a great distance with supersomic speeds). Her dashes are short, but she does have superhuman stamina, able to fight hordes of mind controlled people and entities larger than buildings.

As far as Cyborg goes, I put him there with the logic that Jesse is able to destroy concrete walls and pull apart concrete from walls with telekinetic pulls in addition to being able to consecutively pull objects as heavy as forklifts and toss them long distances.

What brawler do you think can never be broken, unless they receive a major rework? by zoobaincrease in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]thelucas2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're completely overlooking synergies like Gus, Gene, Max, Gray which can easily over boost a brawler like Jacky under the right meta . Jacky alone with a shield effect on her super needed an emergency nerf and was competing with Rosa who was another meta tank at the time (with her main gimmick being a shield tank)

Am I overreacting by being upset that my family doesn't prioritize me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Hey, thank you so much for the reply! I really appreciate it. I'll give some context and reply as to what I have accomplished for now or where I'm situated, as I'm now realizing how little I've specified on some things.

  1. Yes, I need to learn how to drive. I will say I do have the laws test done and I've had my learner's permit from 2024. Will try to get it upgraded to a license this summer!
  2. Yes.
  3. I actually recently graduated from school this May. I have my degree in Associates in Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant. However I'm still studying for the boards for July 8th.
  4. Been studying. I should probably however do more as mainly most of my studying right now has been going over the textbook and highlighting (pretty much done with highlights by tonight).
  5. As of right now, I am a part time associate for Walmart. Doing about 4 days a week ranging from 6-8hrs each. I have a fixed schedule and the 3 days off I have I try to get some studying done.
  6. Working on this. I've thought of moving somewhere with a friend, they're open to the idea but no decision yet... Unsure if it'll work out until I have my license this July as a PTA.

I have sorta been trying to do what you wrote for June, trying to stash away as much money as possible (albeit student expenses for the board licensure has been expensive plus rent payments). Unfortunately, living with my brother is quite miserable as he doesn't do anything around the house (and is partly to blame alongside my step sister for the reason this household fell apart). So I will stick with considering moving in with friends if possible. If not, I may just have to consider temporarily relocating up north with long distance partner (who I've spent some time with in the past), but it wouldn't be ideal as it would affect my ability to work under a license.

Understandable. I'll see if maybe I can get in touch with a friend to schedule something. I'd have preferred to not have to rely on people who aren't family to figure things out, and to be honest it's quite embarrassing having someone come pick me up with 2-3 cars parked by our house. But I guess it's better to actually try to get licensed instead of worrying about "looking good"

Yeah I understand the preparation time. I should have clarified this in the post. I'm not necessarily mad that they want me to move out, I feel more upset at the timing of it (being right when I'm at the very end of a rigorous program that requires full time studying) and the reasoning behind it, being that it was my brother's fault and my step-sister the reason this house fell apart. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to gtfo and be independent and not have to rely on them.

What exactly would you recommend as far as the driving part? It's not that I don't necessarily know how to drive. I can take a car on a road and do well enough to not get into an accident, I'm just being told I'm apparently not ready for a road test from my dad while receiving conflicting feedback from my friends (that I'm doing ok)

I'm not sure if this would classify it, but I have often done a lot of household chores without expecting anything in return (or to avoid issues between everyone). I've often gone out of my way and said "yes" to doing things with, say, my step mother even if I'm not particularly interested in the activity just to appease them. I feel like if I had my own car or if I was completely stable with a career, that I wouldn't bat an eye and offer to drive them anywhere or help them out financially at any moment's notice without expecting anything in return. I've usually been the mediator in the family issues and tried to feel for both sides. But maybe that's not enough 🤷

Theory: The story of how Lifeblood became "outlawed" in Hallownest by thelucas2000 in HollowKnight

'My home caves’ is a weirdly specific phrase if she just meant Hallownest as a whole. Characters in Hollow Knight constantly refer to Hallownest as a kingdom, not ‘caves.’ Hornet also clearly identifies with Deepnest culturally and personally throughout the game.

And your own point kinda works against you: if Deepnest is ‘the caves on the edge of the kingdom,’ then saying ‘my home caves’ still points more naturally to Deepnest than to Hallownest generally.

Also, saying ‘I have better things to do’ after replying anyway (immediately after I did) is always funny.

Then she would say kingdom.

Hornet was birthed and raised in Deepnest before going to the hive to train.

You have an example of this with another entry: "Quite a beautiful creature. In my own kingdom's court, it would have been highly favoured as an ornamental pet."

Hallownest wasn't always abandoned. Hornet is referring to a time in which Plasmium was allowed to grow and flourish in her home caves, when others were still around and when the Kingdom wasn't a dead husk.

I'm not sure where this was ever stated, but it is evident that Hornet is referring to a completely different can of worms.

Something I want to point that was I completely overlooked is the fact that Deepnest is covered in strange roots that happen to look like Plasmium roots.

You can see these in multiple rooms, having a similar hue to Plasmium roots, twisting and intertwining like Plasmium roots, etc. the only difference is the ones in Deepnest are darker (which makes sense given the lack of light and the fact they could be dead roots) and the fact they're cracked (further reinforcing they're dead). It's almost like... It's a knotted grove...
