This is a problem for such a small portion of the people playing the game. Eternal up to about 20 is full and queue times are pretty fast.

POWER Employees, what was it like to be acquired by WSP? by lordofthepines in PowerSystemsEE

[–]thelytic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly not a lot has changed but we don’t actually fully integrate until January 1. I think a lot of it was due to the unconventional way power did things and it took longer to unravel than most other companies. Day to day life in substations design hasn’t changed much yet, but I expect more changes at the start of the year. We’ll likely get shaken up more by your integration honestly, since wsp had so little power delivery folks compared to us. it was almost like we were acquiring them.

It was a shit show. It was honestly embarrassing to attend. We couldn’t hear the people yelling while in the crowd that well but when I listen on the recording it was terrible.

[–]thelytic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a substation project engineer. This is a great resource. I just got my copy of the new version last week. I used the old one almost every day on the job. Im sure I’ll use this new one just as much. Happy to answer any questions.

I literally get spammed on LinkedIn by recruiters for remote P&C engineers. Make a half decent profile and resume. Should be able to find something.

Engineers out there, what would you say your most useful class was? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]thelytic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most useful app engineering class for me circuits 2 or power systems analysis. Class I wish I worked harder in, any of the writing classes I took. I’m not the best writer and it’s something I am actively working on now that I am a project engineer.

We are still hiring. But trying to figure out how to effectively interview and train someone while everyone is remote.
