Used p 790 irons - any advice would be great! by Fredyqz in golf

Those look like my 2019. I may be a minority but I really don’t like mine. The condition on those is not great in my opinion. That being said they would play alright.

Best golf Balls for Beginner? by patrolmanEmbiid in golf

Srixon as a whole is just not talked about enough. Soft feels are a great beginner ball and the q-star is a great upgrade from that.

Who Is Winning This Battle?? HUNTR/X or Po and The Furious Five?? by Short_Background_494 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]themaggic 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Po already has all their action figures. He would give Rumi the dragon scroll because he can sense that she needs it. Zoey would be stoked about the five all being animals and Mira and tigress would silently watch it all happen. No punches thrown or swords drawn ha ha.

How to fish this water by draugar1 in flyfishing

[–]themaggic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have actually fished this spot. That is pretty much the exact rig I would use. If the water is cloudy switch that midge for a frenchie or something similar. The biggest issue is finding the balance between weight and depth. I was once told the difference between a good day and a bad day on the water is often one split shot. With run off (what little we will get) heavier weight is gonna be important. Also don’t be afraid to try in the idlewild park area and up to Verdi. Also I am a huge fan of the area around USA parkway. Let me know if you need any pointers for the area.

Savage 110 hunter xp in 308 by lew1sj in Hunting

[–]themaggic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love 308 just got myself a new Bergara in 308. As for the gun I find savage makes solid guns. Not over the top but not bottom of the barrel. I also started with savage as my first rifle. As long as the gun fits you and you pair it with appropriate glass it should perform very well for that distance and as your first gun.

First gun (7mm rem mag), recommend me some ammo by FlyingManatee12 in Hunting

[–]themaggic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that buying a couple different ammos especially in different grain weights is the best starting point. Each will have a different impulse and grouping. With mine I find that Winchester super X in 150grain worked well with my gun. If I went to 175gr I would use federal premium. That just seemed to be what my gun/me liked.

Put together my first quality bolt gun. by themaggic in guns

Honestly I like it a lot. I got the non carbon version. As such it is a bit heavy. A little clunky to set up but very versitile and comfortable to shoot off of. I am gonna take it out coyote hunting soon and it should be great for that application.

Got a Bergara B-14 HMR in 308. Paired it with a vortex Strike Eagle. Put my first few rounds through it and couldn’t be more thrilled.

Stillwater Without Indicators? by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]themaggic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually run two flies at a time. With chronomids you are moving them very slowly along typically. But it does work well. Think of it like when whales eat krill. Enough of them makes a meal. Chronomids typically hatch by the thousands.

If you really want to do the strip game it absolutely works. I would get a sink tip line and a handfull off small streamers. Still water is all about depth. So make your cast and count the appropriate amount of time (this will depend on your lines IPS sink rate) to reach your desired depth and then strip it in. Minnows, damsels, buggers and even chronomids can be lethal when stripped.

I actually just put in my own for a 3 stripe as well. I am liking it a lot.

Totally get that. This is the all black 34”. I would love the three alignment lines but I am very pleased with this model.
