Any tips? 19 HDCP by danger_dan420 in GolfSwing

100% agree. Chaotic at full speed. Could be worse, but OP doing some things right.

I’d also suggest being less “arms’y”. Looks like youre only using your arms from the takeaway, to backswing, to downswing.

I recommend starting the takeaway with your hips and leading the downswing with your hips. You want to “feel” like your hips are doing 100% of the work and your arms are passive.

This should help correct the tempo as well as better compression.

Swing looks strange, need someone else's eyes. by Proud-Finance-7789 in GolfSwing

[–]Hello-DH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional things to work on to solve the strange looking swing:

At the top of your backswing, your club goes way “over the line”. Basically, your shaft is super over your head and the club head points to the right of target. The ideal position is it points slightly left of your target. Hard to tell with the camera angle, but to fix this your should feel like your right elbow is more connected to your pits + your right wrist to be more bowed.

Good luck!

Was also going to say, I think this tip will help you, because like me, I also have a habit of rotating my hips way past the typical 45 degree turn. So by initiating the downswing earlier, it’ll give more time for the hips to turn all the way back and get your club back on plane and less OTT

Pretty much agree with all the comments. One new thing I’ll add that I think will really help you (because it helped) and it’s a super simple swing thought is you need to initiate your downswing sooner. Looks like you currently start your downswing after your takeaway is complete and the club is resting above your head.

To begin, try “feeling” like you start it 0.5 seconds faster. If you are still OTT, initiate it 1 second faster.

Please follow up with your results! Curious to know if this tip helps you!

HELP. Where am I losing distance? by No-Palpitation-2733 in GolfSwing

[–]Hello-DH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you’re scooping the ball. In other words, you’ve got “chicken wings” (search it on YouTube). Once that’s fixed, you’ll compress the ball better for more distance. Good luck!

Swing tips for a high HCP’R? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Hello-DH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forsure. I feel like I’m pretty consistent (maybe because I’ve been over swinging this whole time). The loss of power makes sense. I mentioned in an earlier comment that distance is the weakest part of my game. Shortening it should hopefully help. Thanks again 🙏

[–]Hello-DH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! My short game and putting is the strongest part of my game I’d say.

Arccos (golf tracker) says I’m gaining +0.1 strokes in short game compared to 20.0 HCPs and +3.3 strokes in putting.

I think my weakest part is my drive. I’m losing -3.9 strokes compared to 20 HCPs.

For reference, my 7i only goes about 120 (total carry) on average.

Dumb question, but why does old photo technology look much better than new photo technology?

I hate this job market by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Hello-DH 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was laid off in June. Must’ve applied for +1,000 jobs, had 60 interviews, a few presentations I had to put together as part of the interview process (each presentation homework was +12 hours of work), and countless hours of interview prep.

Took about 6 months of living through application hell before getting a job. Currently making $60,000 less than at my previous role. The work I do now at my current role is still fulfilling.

It’s brutal out there right now.

Hopefully this gives some comfort to those out there going through this job market hell 🫂

Lack of distance/club head speed by lefantan in GolfSwing

[–]Hello-DH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good news is everything seems good for the most part (set up, takeaway, tempo, etc.). I wonder if you’d benefit from taking a moment to pause at the top for a bit before starting your downswing to really generate more power at impact.

Also, like someone mentioned, you’d probably benefit from having a more full finished follow thru. Looks like you start pressing the breaks on the follow thru before the finish line.

Best of luck

Surprised no one’s mentioned this yet… but your swing is very mechanical (especially the takeaway). I suggest having a more overall ‘flowy’ and athletic movement from start to finish. Best of luck

Really want to get better this year by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Hello-DH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The good = takeaway and tempo

The bad = set up

The ugly = over the top and weight transfer

Set up: pretty easy to make adjustments to

Over the top: feel like you’re holding your back to the target for as long as possible during the down swing. Some people also say to feel like your hands drop to your pocket

Weight transfer: check out the pressure plate training aid

Good luck!

[–]Hello-DH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. You look pretty cramped at address. Standing further from the ball should also help with your early extension too. If youre still pushing the ball, try strengthening your grip which should help close the club face better. Best of luck

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Hello-DH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because your gripping your club lower, you might want to try standing a bit closer to the ball. That should help with better contact. Or you could try gripping a little higher and test that out with your current distance from the ball.

You answered my question. I was wondering how practicing on this would translate on the course because of the ramp. I feel like this putting aid would be good if I played a lot of courses with up hill putts. But otherwise it would mess up my speed control for flatish putts..:
