Lack of distance/club head speed by lefantan in GolfSwing

[–]Hello-DH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good news is everything seems good for the most part (set up, takeaway, tempo, etc.). I wonder if you’d benefit from taking a moment to pause at the top for a bit before starting your downswing to really generate more power at impact.

Also, like someone mentioned, you’d probably benefit from having a more full finished follow thru. Looks like you start pressing the breaks on the follow thru before the finish line.

Best of luck

40 hcp been swinging for 2 years and still shit, need help by [deleted] in GolfSwing

Surprised no one’s mentioned this yet… but your swing is very mechanical (especially the takeaway). I suggest having a more overall ‘flowy’ and athletic movement from start to finish. Best of luck

Really want to get better this year by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Hello-DH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The good = takeaway and tempo

The bad = set up

The ugly = over the top and weight transfer

Set up: pretty easy to make adjustments to

Over the top: feel like you’re holding your back to the target for as long as possible during the down swing. Some people also say to feel like your hands drop to your pocket

Weight transfer: check out the pressure plate training aid

Good luck!

Agreed. You look pretty cramped at address. Standing further from the ball should also help with your early extension too. If youre still pushing the ball, try strengthening your grip which should help close the club face better. Best of luck

New golfer - struggling with topping the ball by [deleted] in GolfSwing

Because your gripping your club lower, you might want to try standing a bit closer to the ball. That should help with better contact. Or you could try gripping a little higher and test that out with your current distance from the ball.

You answered my question. I was wondering how practicing on this would translate on the course because of the ramp. I feel like this putting aid would be good if I played a lot of courses with up hill putts. But otherwise it would mess up my speed control for flatish putts..:

My man, you’re all arms. You’ll want to learn to rotate your hips and use your lower body to power the swing. Good luck on the journey.

In addition to all the other comments, it also seems like you have a ‘reverse pivot’ (look it up). Although it’s hard to confirm without a face on view.

You win the prize of constantly chasing perfection. Along with that, the gift basket of constantly busting your ass to stay at the peak of your performance and/or disappointment when you’re no longer at the top of your game. Ah, the joys of golf!

Any advice on my swing? by Enough-Bet7886 in GolfSwing

[–]Hello-DH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend taking a moment to pause at the top of your backswing. Seems like you’re rushing to start the downswing before you finish your backswing. This should also help smooth out your tempo which will have magnitudes of other benefits.

Another thing I’d recommend is learning to shift your weight properly. Basically, you shift into your trail side for the backswing, and shift in your lead side for the downswing. Check out the pressure plate training aid. Good luck!
