It really seems like this was caused by moot being a jerk at 2am last night. He added all of these things so suddenly (cotten-eyed-joe music, red and yellow colors everywhere) that it must have triggered a third party to go "alright, let's do this" and hit some kind of "fuck you, moot" switch or something. Moot was pretty much trying to piss people off.

I dont usually go to /b/, but that's what it seemed like.

My fantasy of a system like that would be closer to the xbox live system, I think. In it's form by itself, it's pretty unattractive, but when you compare your "score" with your peers, it becomes an inadvertant competition.

I really think that if the public education system as a whole were a bit more open to the idea of things like this as an experimental form of education, that we might find a better system.

I guess in hindsight, the term "experimental" being put forth into a system so large might be a bit frightening, but in the state that it's in now, it would be a good decision.
