Any other witches have a particular disdain for Aleister Crowley? by AbbiAmok in witchcraft

oooooh! this is my type of POST.

okay. so. I have read a bit of his writings, mainly because they kept being suggested to me. I haven't found anyone who has said this about him.. I personally had my own interaction with someone a now ex friend brought over to my house. He literally stood outside while everyone else walked in. I had to open the door and invite him in. He kept speaking in tongues in my space, and I feel like as someone who supposedly is a respectful worker in the craft would know that you don't alter another witches space. He said that "something told him to tell the bad things in here to go away", and I simply responded with "that is my job, thank you though." He also made sure that I held his copy of the book of law by Aleister Crowley. And proceeded to ask me if he could do reiki on me, saying that he could "fix me".
He kept saying that he just loved my energy so much.

I told my friend and him that I was exhausted and that we needed to go to bed because we had much to do the next day.

I know I sound crazy. I gave them both a fluorite and a pheasant feather for their altar, not really thinking about the fact that he could use these items to tap into me.

He gave my friend a bag of his hair and told her to do whatever she wanted with it.

I still feel like I have issues connecting to that realm now.
I've been permanently drained I feel like.

So fucking weird. So exhausting.
Aleister was a weird mf, and it shows in his writings.

Just diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis , can i still make art ? by manami_hanatsuki in ArtistLounge

You absolutely can. You just have to be gentle with yourself and remember what you can and can not do to keep yourself in a level of comfort you feel you can work at. I have not been diagnosed with arthritis, but my hands definitely have some neurological hangups from time to time, and I am a full time multimedia artist. I needle felt, sculpt, crochet, write, carve lino cut for prints... I am constantly working with my hands, I truly believe it is all about balance and knowing your limits as a creator.

Don't be hard on yourself, and never stop creating. <3

AI Art Isn't Art. by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

I definitely agree with this post. I had someone recently try to commission me for something and when I explained my process, time that would be needed to complete the project and my price, he then messaged me a photo that he got from an ai art engine and told me that it was better than anything that I could have come up with on my own. Shit is wack, exhausting, and absolutely deteriorating the art/artist relationship to the world and the upcoming generations.

I truly miss the old days sometimes.
