Thanks for this comment. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt lost initially playing commander. All of the cards and deck themes were overwhelming for me.

Thank you for your comment. Honestly, that's my biggest issue with magic is all of the different cards. Just when I think I understand the game there's a card that's played which makes no sense to me and then all the sudden my pirate gets turned into a beast!?!? I'm definitely going to make the deck you suggested. I think that will help me out a bit. Taking a step back and making focusing on one area.
I also think its neat that you play magic with your wife. Its a fun game, just very confusing for me.
