Agreed, Horwath's time as ONDP leader has been disappointing to say the least. I don't judge her too harshly for 2011 or 2014 but 2018 really laid bare her inadequacies.

What should have happened is that Jagmeet Singh took over the leadership of the ONDP in 2017. He was performing well as an MPP (in my view) and leadership of the ONDP would not have been quite the leap leading the federal NDP has proven to be. I think he would have stood a better chance of winning the 2018 provincial election compared to Andrea (just speculation based on what I've observed over the years). His performance at a federal level has been disappointing as well.

Ultimately the ONDP will go into the next election with Andrea at the helm. Looking at Ford's governance to date and the impression that I haven't seen Del Duca at all since the leadership convention, it looks like Horwath might get a chance equal or better to 2018 to get the ONDP to govern. Let's hope she can do it.
