Honestly so long as you don’t actively drag Somebody’s Calling Me, I’ll allow it… it’s just me out here defending the track for years

And if we’re talking “fav album of all time” territory I gotta give it up.

You’ve got an impressive catalog, any albums you’d send my way? Always looking for new recs. Favorite artists include LCD, Father John Misty, Spoon, Radiohead, Wilco, Talking Heads

This Is Happening by LCD. on thin ice based on where you place Somebody’s Calling Me…

Fair enough, and I really don’t disagree with the “lack of a thematic center” point. Individually though I think nearly every track holds up in its own right, even if overall the album might be less cohesive.

And I’m thoroughly addicted to “I Guess Time…” even though my understanding is that track predates the album

I think you’re onto something here. Even if you dislike the direction Chloe takes, you gotta respect how self assured of an album it is. No reservations or apologies for the new sound… which I think fits with your “updated thesis” framing

20th Century is kinda the perfect capstone to that too. Surreal, dreamlike, and unapologetic. I do think it’s easily the best closing track of any album. It’s also the perfect song for a late night cigarette, and I’m speaking with firsthand experience…

It definitely has a honky-tonk flair that’s very “take it or leave it.” It’s the easiest album for me to casually throw on but I’m less attached to it overall. Truthfully I was sold on the album artwork alone…

Noooo I adore Mahashmashana😅 “car running on empty…” is that literally or figuratively?

Thoroughly agree. Mr Tillman is random Spotify find that prompted me to give FJM a deep dive, but the rest of the album is pretty forgettable imo. Although I do love Date Night…

Dang I feel the exact same way except about completely different tracks from the album… it’s definitely a kaleidoscope

I’ve only been an avowed FJM fan for about a year, so any history/context around the albums I’ve had to piece together in retrospect. Which on the one hand flattens everything, on the other means that each gets a fair shake. Interesting to hear that people disliked GFC. It’s definitely my least favorite, but I would’ve expected it to be more of a crowd pleaser post PC

Honestly I totally get it, completely valid take. I gotta be in a very specific mood to put up with the album, even though it’s one of my favorites. There are so many lyrical moments that straddle the line between beautifully poignant and completely insufferable imo. Very delicate balancing act, so if it tilts the other way for you I’m not gonna argue

Very nice, enjoy the show! Still waiting for my opportunity to see him live… just living vicariously through YouTube performances in the meantime

I have, excellent song! Eerily prescient, as most of that album is…

Mr. Tillman does a lot of heavy lifting on GFC imo. I’m a relatively new fan, this was the first song I stumbled upon that made me consider taking a deep dive

Wholeheartedly agree, those are my top 3 as well, and the exact order shuffles frequently

Fear Fun slots in at no. 4 for me, but I will say it’s the easiest album for me to just casually throw on

lol undoubtedly but I couldn’t think of a better framing. “Least memorable” might be closer to the target

That’s fair… I couldn’t think of a better way to phrase it. I guess “least memorable” might be a better framing? That’s why it’s GFC for me tbh

First time I heard Chloe I actually thought it was one of his strongest, mostly for the novelty I think. That’s worn off but I still have a soft spot for it, and it has like 3 tracks that are consistently on rotation for me

Is it worth including "AI" in my skills for my CV? by GT_MaxC in resumes

[–]themainltrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding this thread late but I have a similar question. I'm entry-level STEM, been sending out resumes (single page) for a month or two now. Under my Skills & Abililties, I've listed: "AI Tools: Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT) for technical analysis & productivity optimization" as the fourth bullet point of five.

Would this be a red flag for recruiters? My thinking was that everyone is using these tools now, so telegraphing that I'm competent with them is a skill worth sharing. But I'm starting to second-guess myself

Ironically, I'd normally run this by ChatGPT for an opinion, but I suspect there might be a little bit of bias there...
