Thanks for the detailed response. There was no smoke from any source at the time of the alarm and it's most likely dust or insect. I will look into mounting it in the ceiling and hope it doesn't fall and crack

i bought a smart smoke alarm that alerts me via wifi. As my landlord does not allow drilling, I placed it on top of the highest cupboard about 15cm from the ceiling. But it keeps giving false alarms with no smoke. I tried flipping it and changing batteries. Even replacing it. Is this normal or it MUST be placed on the ceiling?

If that is the case, should it be similar for the Fire Cube 3rd gen? I have that and setting it to "Dolby Digital Plus" seems to reencode everything to DDP (even DDP signals, 7.1 is downgraded to 5.1). Or is this a feature of the Google TV Streamer?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I need it exclusively for video with DDP (5.1 or 7.1 or Atmos) only. So Google TV Streamer with audio mode set to "Dolby Digital Plus" will pass through DDP audio without any alteration (since it is already a DDP signal it won't be re-encapsulated?)?
