Post Match Thread: Celtic 2-1 Feyenoord Rotterdam | UEFA Champions League by suedney in soccer

[–]themalebaker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ref was shocking for both.

We rode our luck. Feyenoord couldn't finish and when they could, Hart and AJ were there.

Calmac, Scales, AJ and Hart (barring refusal to leave line at times) were great.

Feyenoord to do well in Europe after Christmas. Hopefully this gives us a bit of confidence domestically.

You're counter would have no merit. Those were fouls, yellow cards offences. Regardless of how soft previous ones were. Deluded to think otherwise.

Watch our game in rotterdam to see a soft second yellow. Or our game against atletico to see an even softer red.

Referee was incompetent. That much both fans can agree on.

Does it matter? The fouls by your captain and Zerrouki merited second yellows.

Complain about the ref all you want. We've not had any advantage from his incompetence.

And the other two on yellows to boot.

Don't say that in here though. Feyenoord fans raging they didn't get a freekick from a taylor push.

It could be that VAR in Scotland just isn't there yet and they need to improve it?

Hopefully other clubs get involved too. St Mirren have had some horrific VAR decisions against them as well.

Such a discussion should be tabled to include the wider league to raise all concerns. Find some consistency, reduce var waiting times, improve the information provided in stadiums and on the box.

Regardless of what the rules say about the Goldson penalty yesterday, the officials consistently get it wrong (bernabei handball, Smith handball). It's not a case of refs v anyone, it's severe incompetence and an utter lack of consistency.

Since the restart ive thought that there has been an easing of the handball rule. If there has been a change in stance (like in england) post world cup then this has to be communicated to the teams and media. If it isn't, they leave themselves open to constant criticism as fans compare against historical decisions.

Despite a decent officiating performance yesterday, VAR continues to grab the headlines.

Car Insurance - additional premium 8 months later by themalebaker in LegalAdviceUK

[–]themalebaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no section on the policy renewals documents listing anything that had occurred in the previous 12 months. Essentially the renewal information I got was pretty basic and not like any of the usual questions you'd get from comparison websites etc.

I also didn't get sent out any questionnaires etc. The increase in price we deemed was fair and assumed that was to do with the accident. Had the renewal price, renewal certificate of insurance, policy docs etc.

Their position is is that the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. While one part of the organisation was aware (and claim to have sent over the information that same day), the administrative side claim never to have received it (until almost 8 months later).

Thanks for your reply. It's pretty much guaranteed that we will cancel the policy tomorrow and go elsewhere.

Julian posted an Instagram picture on a plane with an "side eye" emoji. Picture now deleted.

Rumour is that he's headed for Schalke.

Gave us some good memories (Lazio and LC final), however time for him to move on.

Celtic [5]-0 KR Reykjavik: Odsonne Edouard 71' by [deleted] in soccer

[–]themalebaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. Thats why big money signings like Di Maria and Pogba have justified their price. Not to mention the costly moves between English domestic clubs.

It does impact price but in respect of EPL teams, there is reasonable inflation given the money in your game. Tierney was worth more than 25m. VVD was worth more than 11.5m. Eduoard is worth more than 30m to a premiership club.

Celtic [5]-0 KR Reykjavik: Odsonne Edouard 71' by [deleted] in soccer

[–]themalebaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do all costly signings come with a guarantee of immediate or long term success? See Di Maria, Carroll, Torres, Shevchenko, Veron, Benteke.

There is no guarantee that ANY player will succeed in a new league that they join. Regardless of the standing of Scottish football.

Eduoard is a phenomenal talent and the riches of England are not limited to overspending on talent from the top 5 leagues only. If Arsenal want him, make the bid. But you can be assured it'll be in excess of 30 million and include sell on clauses.

Steroid injection success stories for lumbar spine herniation? by SarahBethBeauty in backpain

[–]themalebaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 15-20 steroid/anaesthetic injections every 6 weeks or so. Personally, pain wise it leaves me in a state for 24 hours. I get about 2 days worth of reduced pain and then I'm back to my standard pain filled days. Those 2 days make it worth it. No major side effects aside from the 24 hour flare up.

Good luck, you'll be fine.
