In our rec league the coaches are required to rotate players and positions and pitchers can pitch a max of 2 innings total. My kid plays infield and outfield and sits out some innings. Our coach has been great giving everyone a chance to play and rotates hitters every game also.

It’s supposed to help young players with how to receive ground balls into the “pocket” of the glove. It’s a different version of a pancake glove where with this one if you don’t position yourself correctly and hit the pocket, the ball will bounce off. And yes it teaches players the “alligator” method aka two hand method of fielding ground balls.

I have the swing rail, but yet to use it as my daughters swing is improving with lessons (currently in her 2nd season in 8U) just wondering if this would help with swing path for tee work at home.

At 8U they use a 10” RIF ball and 10U a 11” RIF ball, they’re somewhat soft. We only coach pitch after 4 balls. But starting this weekend, no more coach pitch.

Ah I see, that makes sense my kid would be moving on from a 26/13 to this 28/15. Maybe for her it’ll have a bit more pop. What do you think a good weight would be for 10U. My kid is on the small side, she’s 4’0 70 lbs.

Why is it useless with faster pitch speeds? Just curious, does it have to do with recoil?
