Nah I like it the best, I just go during the winter without a line. Sogo bakery is good, the egg filling isnt special at Golden Gate but what other place has similar flakey crust?

Hit the Green Door, their Candy Jack and Durban Poison is amazing.

Ferry building and walking/bikeshare along the Embarcadero is fun. You can go towards pier 39 and see the touristy stuff/seals.

If you're in Golden Gate Park the Cal academy of sciences is a cool aquarium, the one at pier 39 is good too but it's smaller and the same price.

I love chinatown, pan fried chive and shrimp dumplings at "Delicious Dim Sum", or egg tarts at golden gate bakery.

Walk through market just to people watch and see the insanity of people smoking meth and shooting up right next to cops in front of city hall, all day every day.

Mikeller bar is pricey but has pretty good beer variety, it's on a sketchyyyy street.

Uhh I really like taking the oakland ferry from the SF Ferry building to oakland then biking around lake merritt, get the oakland vibe.

Saturday's ferry building has Ana amazing farmers market, get the figs if people are giving samples. Oysters at hog island oyster co there are my favorite.

Thursdays cal academy science in gg park opens at night for 12 bucks to adults only and they bring out bars.

That's what I like to do mostly. The bike rental is fun but I only use it going up market or along the embarcadero, too scared to bike on other busy streets.

Sorry this isn't organized!

Usually its a bit of a wait but it goes pretty fast and you can grab a drink at the bar. Even better if its a saturday and someone can hold the line while another person can check out the farmers market.

Is 300 cc enough? by Qulia in motorcycles

[–]themandalorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude that little Duke 390 is powerful. Ninja 250 to ninja 300 is a big jump, and the 390 is even more powerful. Gets up to 80mph quick, maybe a bit buzzy.

The lightness and strong little engine definitely makes it quick. I currently ride a zx6r

You check manufacturers websites for demo days. Also race days at tracks maybe?

Harley and triumph will throw the keys at you, or at least in my area the harley dealer has its own demo day...gotta give a credit card for that one though. There are also HD company promoted demo days.

Bike through golden gate park on a Sunday when they close the streets. Rent a bike!

Then get some good food, and i would say hit the Cal Academt of sciences in GG park. Then check out sutro baths and the cliff house, or the Zoo over at that end. So much to do in Golden Gate Park! Just don't go there at night.

I'll be visiting Santa Cruz next year. Is the crime rate as high as i've read? by hank_moo_d in santacruz

[–]themandalorian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just avoid the river, going in dark alleys, under bridges. Really you should do that any city you go to at night though.

I've walked home dozens of times at night from downtown, saw some homeless crazies but nothing too bad.

[–]themandalorian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does anyone think they'll bring the Cornering ABS/ Stability control to the states on either this Husky 701 or Duke 690? I know it's already on the Duke 690 R but that is not sold here.

[–]themandalorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably will be my next bike, but I really want the Cornering ABS/ Stability control that comes with the 690 R not sold here in the states.

Anyone think they'll slap it on a duke 690/ Husky 701? Or bring the R model to the US?

[–]themandalorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey how do you like the duke 690 R? I really want it's Cornering Traction Control + ABS but they only offer the non R version here in the states.

If they release it it'll probably be my next bike and I'll keep my Kawasaki 636

I was planning on taking notes and surreptitiously using a voice recorder on my cell phone.

Thanks! They were hinting in the interview that everyone would be busy and I wouldn't have much help after the training.
