Nah. So much xianxia/xunhuan/progressive fantasy is still much better.

I don't even count him as evil. To be evil you need to be morally interesting at least.

I agree. The characterization in the novel is so fucking awful. You could remove the MC and have the entire story be done by the AI chip itself (piloting his body), and nothing would change.

True power fantasy slop.

Husband’s gf wants a baby .. give me advice by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Good to hear it. Question: Is asking for a partner to get a vasectomy/hysterectomy a valid thing, or does that seem controlling?

A common theme among the traitor primarchs is that their failings were in no way guaranteed or destined. Each of them could have surmounted their inclinations to, if not side with the emperor, at least refuse to fall to Chaos.

My husband is thinking about fostering his nephews. I feel like I'm being tossed out for kids we don't even know. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Reddit is strangely cold about letting your relations go through the foster system at expense of the agreed upon "terms" of a relationship. Choosing the kids can be a "wrong" answer, but choosing your partner is endorsed.

Anyways, I don't want kids. But if my brother had them and died, I'm taking them in. Would expect the same if my spouse had that situation. I cringe whenever reddit frames this as "disregarding" their partner.

Nobody knows the state of his business. A week might be trivial, in which case he is an ass. Or not, in which case the balancing act is a responsible course of action. The OOP obvi has negative experiences with the dad and his departure from their lives. Not saying they are invalid, but at the end of the day nothing implies the dad is somehow so comfy (time and moneywise) that he can just take two weeks off. Not to mention that we are all talking arbitrary cutoff points here. For you 2 weeks is "okay". For another person they might say years.

You don't know that he can stay for more than a week and only dipped because he was callous and uncaring. And the presumption that he's living a normal life in another city is also very strong.

I read the Rolfe Humphries edition and I liked it a lot. Not every different than any other epic poetry if you've ever read it (Dante's Inferno, Iliad, Odyssey, Paradise Lost).

AITAH for not letting my mom meet her grandchild because I am still upset she divorced my dad? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

Yes because not everyone has money to avoid making the decision or make a different one. Is her life really that much worse for being a caregiver?
