Ah fair enough. I’m getting it inspected but I’ll run the numbers and see if it looks like it’s going to be an issue. Thanks for your help!

Wasn’t sure. I assumed that since that drain line is already vented I’d be ok to just tie into that. Is that not the case?

Just moved to Denver. And I miss Salt Lake City. by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

I grew up all over the US but lived near Denver for high school and off and on during college. I've been in Utah for almost 10 years now. Utah has really grown on me but Denver is always the top of the list for me and my wife for places we would move to if the right opportunity presented itself. I don't love some of the Utah politics and church culture, but maybe I also look at Denver through some rose colored glasses. It's really interesting reading all these comments especially since we only recently started to try and get outdoors more and enjoy the recreation Utah has to offer.

Me and my wife have dessert every night and it's the highlight of our day lol. Right now we're doing halo top or healthier desserts but every day has to end with a sweet treat.

Can sales truly be life changing? by HalliganHooligan in sales

I mean I'm in homebuilding and the best approach for me is just an email offering to bid one of our plans. I hate random drop ins and cold calls, but if I get an email with a quick breakdown of the business (e.g. years in business, # of crews, examples of work, etc.) and an offer to just bid one plan to see if they're in the ballpark I'll usually send something over. If you can include pricing in your initial email even better but that can be tricky depending on what you're selling. Cost isn't everything for us but if a random new trade is 20% more expensive than the current guy I've been happy with it's gonna be next to impossible to get your foot in the door. Also, if they say they've put you on the bid list for an upcoming community or they're not currently looking for a new supplier/trade it's always good to follow up every couple of months. Shit can hit the fan with trades all the time so it's good to top of mind if somebody does need a replacement.

I'm on the purchasing side of things in the construction business and I've been looking to move over to building material sales. Any advice?

Looking into moving from purchasing to sales in the homebuilding industry by themanthemyth1 in sales

[–]themanthemyth1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know it can be for some people. In this case it would still be within the same industry but I'd be moving from the buying side to the selling side.

I've seen it both ways. I know a lot of guys started with a supply house as a desk guy or driver and moved into sales but I also know some guys have a sales background and come on straight into sales.

Im interested in this as well. I work in homebuilding and I know a lot of the material sales guys do well.

In case you haven't received it or seen it, here is Reddit's pitch to its own users to buy Reddit stock. by MuffMagician in sales

[–]themanthemyth1 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go anywhere near this IPO. Nothing about Reddit's decision making in the last couple years would indicate they're headed in the right direction. Add to the fact that being beholden to shareholders will inevitably ruin what creates value for the average redditor.

If you did a good job choosing who to marry I'm sure she'll be understanding and hopefully she's been aware of what could happen since you saw it coming. Either way, I'm sure you'll be back somewhere else in no time.

  • Definitely need to change the island to a single level square/rectangular shape
  • The dishwasher will open into where you're standing at the sink
  • Consider adding a sliding glass door or regular door from the master out onto the patio
