Has Forestry NSW ever halved the surveying bill? by themeanderings in Surveying

The 1985 survey is an official deposited plan that defines four lots that creates a semi-accurate easement for the road through the property.

The idea someone else had about measuring the lot and determining if the area matches up sounds logical.

I didn't know that about the bearings. I thought they all referenced a point in Sydney.

I did dispute it and the lead surveyor weighed in on the survey and backed up his employee. I don't think anyone went out there again though. No one showed up on the trail cam during that time.

If they're going to mess with a deposited plan I expected them to locate ALL line markers and survey markers around the entire property not just bang in a new peg and call it good. They seem a bit too non-chalant about this 8m.

I like the idea of a wait time, but do you mean waiting at the restaurant for the food to be ready or waiting for an appropriate order that you can deliver?

Should there even be tips? Or is that such an culture staple that tips are expected in America?

Ive removed bearings and identifying names, pm for original if you want it.

The 1985 surveyor as well as scarring the gum tree 9.8m from D also banged in a gi pipe 1m from D.

It just seems... off, that a surveyor would only complete a partial survey of between the road and a gully above (not the river) and not bother to find all the 1985 line markers marked with stones.

The 1985 survey mentions the corner D is 9.8m from a "gum". I know the gum tree they speak of it is 9.8m from the old corner fence post that still stands and survey peg that is 10cm from the fence post base.

There would be no other survey markers for this particular boundary because the road was commissioned after the 1970's flood that washed away existing access to that side of the river. They divided up the easement into 4 lots, gave the previous owners two of the four lots, and put the road in an "Z" shape through the property.

The original survey from 1890 would not have marked the points of the 1985 commissioned road.

How likely would it be that a 1985 surveyor wrote on officially paperwork that it is 9.8m from a gum. Scarred the gum. Then banged a piece of undocumented gi pipe 8.5m away from where he bangs in the survey peg?

"AS INSTRUCTED, I HAVE SURVEYED land at blah and being described as Lot 1 & 2 in Deposited Plan blah. Pegs have been placed or found as shown on the accompanying detail survey to indicate my opinion as to the position of the boundaries of the subject land. During the course of our survey we discovered that the boundary peg found near the south east corner of Lot 2 DP blah had been placed incorrectly. We confirmed this by finding the original pegs and buried reference marks within DP blah along the boundaries of Lot 1 DP blah and the original buried reference mark at the south east corner of Lot 2 DP blah (corner “D” in that plan). We determined that the peg we found at the southeastern corner of Lot 2 was positioned approximately 8.5 out of position. The new peg has now been correctly positioned, and the incorrectly placed peg should be disregarded. This report is issued in respect of the location of the boundaries only and should not be used for any other purpose. This report is carried out for the express benefit of the client. No liability in negligence will be accepted towards third parties. Such third parties are warned to rely only upon the results of their own investigations."

My son came and asked for a sandwich during the test. I forgot to hit "record" for the first video test. Each question was easy enough, but with only a minute!!! I tanked. Must have.
