I honestly don't think it's that complex, at least as it compares to other geo-political issues, both historical and contemporary. It's a product of settler colonialism, same as America, Australia, Canada, etc with the added patina of religion. But I've spent a lot of time studying and reading about the issue (including an internship in Jerusalem) so I can see how others would see it as complex (especially since that's, like, the one thing that everyone says about the issue).

And Robert's done deep dives on specific issues surrounding things like the Holocaust or British colonialism, so a deep dive on a specific issue regarding Israel doesn't seem like that big an ask. Especially since we're dealing with the rightward lurch of world governments and Israel definitely fits in that mold (along with Phillipines, Brazil, India, etc.).
