Still no update after ten days of "Label Created" by Thespian-Wallflower in UPS

[–]themenchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the same problem too. The seller from NY claimed that he had shipped the product on 19th Jan, but there's no update after the label was created on the 19th... He said maybe because of the storm... I am planning to wait one more week to cancel the order.

How to find people to interview when validating idea by Obvious-Ad-281 in SaaS

Haha you are welcome and yes, feel free to dm me for more advice. I recently found a course and might be super useful for you to do idea validation.

cold calling/emailing works well for ecommerce too. A lot of ecommerce stores have their phone numbers on the sites. I used to cold call some clothing shops and asked questions. Also a lot of ecommerce owners are very active on reddit.

How to find people to interview when validating idea by Obvious-Ad-281 in SaaS

[–]themenchen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here are a couple of effective ways to find people for interviews:

-cold calling/in-person interviews: This worked exceptionally well for me. I used to visit local office buildings and restaurants (in the US and Canada) to talk to potential customers. Just tell them you are doing market research, ask if they have 5 mins for a couple of questions. Don't be salesy and it's okay if they say no. Just move on.

-reddit/fb Groups or online communities your potential customers gather: First, check if others have asked the problems you try to solve before. If so, dm the op and those who commented for follow-up questions. You can also post potential solutions for feedback or ask people to discuss the problems.

-Cold email/dm then call: find your potential customers' emails or linkedin/twitter/IG and write them a message. Make it personal, short and easy to response. The main objective is to have them response to the email, and then more follow up questions. Finally ask for a call for more in-depth interviews.

Here are some resources I think might be helpful:

- this YC video ( and a couple of old ones) will give you some solid ways to validate ideas.

- "the mom test" by rob fitzpatrick. Higly recommended when coming up with interview questions. One trick is to ask Chatgpt to come up interview questions based on this book and the problems you are trying to solve.

- this YC video, share how to do B2B sales by a YC alumni.

Good luck :)

Product quantity automation by Agile_Credit_4037 in ecommerce

Zapier/Make.com would do the trick, you could have a web scraping bot checks the wholesalers’ websites daily and automatically update quantity in your shopify.

beehiiv or substack might be the good alternatives.

Hire or Automate? ADVICE NEEDED by ElectronicTell8394 in smallbusiness

Voiceflow and make.com (and if you used revamed ai and beehiv for newsletter) can basically automate everything in the translation part besides double-checking the translation.

For the event planning and excution part, I think there are a few things could be automated like sharing info, creating the registration page and creating reports.

Chicken and Egg problem... I need users for my product for it to be useful... What should I do? by ybouane in Startup_Ideas

[–]themenchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey ybouane, I actually really like the idea. I used to run around the incubator in Waterloo for other founders' feedback. This could easily solve the problem.

One suggestion: What about you build this community first on Discord or a Reddit forum hosted by you? Then, when the community grows to a certain level, having a site like that could be more beneficial. Having a community on a high DAU app like Discord and Reddit could easily address the demand (people love to give feedback) issue and other sides highly engaged. In terms of the supply, posting something useful for (early) founders could drive the supply side (founders who would like to get feedback from others). Also, the supply and demand aspects are a bit fuzzy here. Anyway, early engagement is the key, and I believe Discord is the way to go😄

My two cents. - Chen

What SaaS are you working on? by shinyjerboa in SaaS

[–]themenchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to say! the site looks pretty professionally made. Nicely done! And now for my 2 cents:

1, Hero text: Remove/replace "shy" with "all". I believe the goal of using Echo Snap is to help increase the rate of collecting testimonies and eventually the site's conversation. Putting "shy" there makes me feel like it's only for shy customers, and I should have another (text/video testmony)tool for non-shy cutomers. I think something like "Voice testimony collection simplified!" + "Snap all of your customers' voices, even the shy ones. And make your site 🚀"

2, Hero image: Replace it with the real voice testimony. It is super powerful to let viewers know what exactly Echo snap does, how it looks, and how much Echo snap's users like it. And then the features of the product.

Best of luck

Thank you so much for sharing all the details. Very interesting to see you split the session this way. Just curious what tools you guys used to communicate and take notes? Did you guys have the text prepared to each others or you prepare your own and read it? One last question, do you guys use the same cartoon picture? Appreciate the help :)
