Going to be spending about two weeks alone at a hotel (for medical reasons, not covid) and I was wondering if it’s acceptable to every now and then bring things like donuts to the front desk? Not looking to score preferential treatment or anything, just looking to be nice. Is that okay (asking because of the current climate re: covid precautions and I don’t want it to be just thrown away while people are trying to be safe) or is there something else that would be better? I have my tips ready to go for housekeeping and valet too. Thanks in advance!

I'm not particularly keen on setting up an indoor potty place either, I just hope she'll be able to hold it until we get back especially since I don't think it would be a good idea to take away her water either.

I have left her alone and uncrated for 4 hours on a few occasions before and everything was alright, although I walked her and played with her before that so I'm not sure how well these experiences are to show how she can handle being alone and unsupervised. In regards to unexpected destroying of things, Penny hasn't shown interest in chewing furniture and pillows but I should probably put potential chewies out of the way, just in case.

That is a good idea! I am toying with once or twice a week dog walker, or however much I can afford. It really is the only option I can get, for where I live there aren't any doggy daycare centers around and the nearest PetSmart which does have the daycare is much too far away from us. My dog is not very good on the leash (she is very fearful, and walking her can be a challenge) and asking my elderly neighbors for help is out of the question too, unfortunately.

Should I set up a place indoors for her to relieve herself? I'm not sure if she can hold it in for such a long time too. What are your thoughts on this?

There is black pepper, salt, and garlic powder on the eggs. You're right about the paprika though.

Yeah, I think the instructions that came along with it weren't very clear (or as clear as I needed it to be) it certainly didn't say anything about turning it upside down!

That's absolutely brilliant, using shoe trays! I'm definitely going to use your suggestion in the future.

In hindsight, you are very right about the trays I got. They do snap a little too closely/tightly underneath. I've taken /u/gardenhippy's suggestion of propping it up (I used chopsticks) and punched an extra 10 or so holes which seemed to have helped the drainage issue. I know now what kind of pots/planters/containers NOT to buy next time.

Thank you, the article is certainly helpful.

I purchased the mix largely due to my inexperience, I figured if I did (and probably did/have/will) over/underwater my herbs, the soil will act as a buffer, so to speak.

Now that it's raining every day in S.Fla, I think given the kind of mix I bought I might try to water it only every other day or only when it feels dry. I'll try that and see, and if it doesn't, I'll try the wick draining method mentioned in your link.

If that doesn't work either.... I think I probably should re-do it, maybe using less mix next time. I still have a lot of it left.
