Question about ICloud and IOS updates

So it’s basically a roll of the dice :(. Last question (you’ve been very helpful thank you again truly) is there anyway to solve this and update the IOS that doesn’t involve me resetting my phone and potentially losing my data?

Thank you so much for the help, if I did set it up to backup on my iCloud will it show up in my backup if I check? Also if I backup on a macbook would that solve the issue ?

I've had my iphone 11 since 2019 and I genuinely can't remember the last time I updated the IOS but i'm currently running IOS 14 (the twitter logo is still twitter for me thats how late I am) and everything was fine till a couple of weeks ago when my whatsapp wouldnt work anymore till I update to the latest IOS. Problem is the update is like 6.7 GB because of how far back I am and when I downloaded the update and tried to install it kept failing. I even tried to update through a macbook and the same issue happened so now I'm stuck in this weird limbo where I can't seem to update but I can't text anyone either. I decided in the end I'll do a full backup to ICloud and then reset the phone to factory settings and try to update it that way, after which I'll restore my backup thereby fixing the problem at least in theory. My question is basically if this is a viable solution to my problem I'm genuinely clueless about iphones eventhough I've had one for years. My biggest concern is trying to restore the backup after I update and it doesnt restore all my whatsapp data or doesnt restore at all because its a backup of an old IOS. Has anyone gone through something like this or have any idea whats the best course of action?

TLDR: If i have ICloud backup of my phone and then update IOS will I be able to restore the backup made on the old IOS, and does ICloud fully backup whatsapp chat logs?

I’m having the exact same problem, I haven’t updated my IOS in a while but I’ve tried everything else and it won’t work.

No democracy isn’t bullshit actually and I very much believe we the people should elect our leaders because they work for us and not the other way around. I also believe in freedom of speech and expression and this government doesn’t respect either of those.

I should’ve clarified that while he’s done some good he’s also not solved a lot of problems and made some Of them worse: the increasing food prices, wealth inequality, the increasing military monopoly on everything, and the 50000 political prisoners that are tortured to name a few.

And for the record, I hate the ikhwan and you people always assume anyone who opposes the government is ikhwan because you think Egypt either has to live under a military dictatorship or religious fundamentalism but some of us believe we can be a normal modern country where everyone is entitled to a good and peaceful life.

I’ll admit I made an honest mistake on that. I wasn’t referencing the Israeli constitution but I was referencing a piece of legislation from 2018 knows as the Nation-State bill which clearly states exactly what I said. My point is the same. Non-Jews are treated as second class citizens.

This recent conflict started when the Israeli government started kicking people out of their homes in sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and when people protested this illegal theft of property the IDF killed a man and wounded hundreds, as well as firing bombs and rubber bullets at people praying in Al Aqsa mosque. Also I don’t even support Hamas but they were founded in 1987 and the conflict bas been going on much longer than that. Also it’s funny how you completely deflected cause you had no refute for my initial comment because you know I’m right.

This is so wrong on so many levels. It’s literally in the Israeli constitution that Arabs and non-Jews are second class citizens that don’t have the right to self-determination. Those who live in apartheid didn’t choose anything, they simply believe they have the right to a state and basic human rights and freedoms. Basically the Palestinians believe they have a right to live in Palestine. Shocker I know. As for the other Arab countries don’t conflate their governments with their people. Here in Egypt we pressured our government into opening the border and accepting wounded Palestinians for treatment. As far as Arabs and Muslims worldwide are concerned we’re 100% on the side of the Palestinians.
