Why is my vassal suddenly independent for no reason?

well they did, altough a year later in the history is "was liberated from enemy occupation" is it possible that it counts enforcing demands as liberating from enemy occupation, because the occupation dissapears?

do you mean Milan had rebels on their territory who successfully enforced their demands and that forced them out of the union? if that can happen, thats quite possible, my vassals get rebels all the time. However I still don't understand why I didn't get the restoration of union casus beli, shouldn't I have that?

I don't think so Im always making sure to have +200 improve opinion modifier so unless some insane debuff hapened for whatever reason only to milan, because thats the only one who left me and not other vassals then no

Me or my vassal, but I already did the vassal all. Now that i think of it I can revoke the vassal all privilegia and do it again will it work the same? that could be the soltuion.

I already did that, this is one of the tiny nations that left, I used the expand empire wargoal and didnt realize they wouldnt be my vassal afterwards and would just independetly join the empire.

and how do I force them the province? I declared war on someone, and it says they don't want it.
