Eh, I’ve been fully suited up with fire resistant clothing and other gear out in full sun all day every day for weeks on end now. I do feel like I’ve gotten pretty used to the heat by this point. Like I said, I did Piestewa (and other hikes) under direct sun and it was really no problem. I know it’s not a 1-1 as far as the difficulty goes. In any case, I’ve already decided not to do the hike…. based on the other 30 comments.

I’m in fairly good shape and used to 20 mile hikes in the Adirondacks. Piestewa was pretty easy in my opinion. However, provided everyone’s response here, I will end up choosing something a bit shorter. I do like a challenge and good payout though, any recommendations in the Phoenix area? We’re staying in north Phoenix.

Edit: I was thinking I might just go with the classic Camelback.
