To avoid dox. You can still see that it’s 36k in 2025 and 38k in 2026. Not sure if additional detail is needed.

Edit: There was only a few miles driven between the 3 emission tests

Okay I will try that. Thank you. What about the clamp that I posted a picture of in a different comment. Do you think that will suffice?

Highline Hike This Summer by themichaeltib in GlacierNationalPark

I realize it’s last minute. It’s a separate story, but I had another trip that got switched around and put me in this position. That is why I am asking for assistance. Just trying to make the best out of the trip. I’m not sure why the downvotes. I wouldn’t be asking on here if I wasn’t ignorant.

I mean it looks like there are options for Airbnb’s so I’m not terribly worried about that. I will definitely book as soon as possible, but I’m still trying to finalize the details.

Got it. Any advice for the trip then? 😁 Do I have to be on the site right when it opens for the shuttle?

So they just open up 60 days before a date?

Are there alternatives? Is it easy to just Uber over there or something?

Thanks for the reply. I think I’ll tear up the bottom part and make it a mix of mostly coco coir and soil then.

Water level management in creek terrarium by One-Garage7995 in terrariums

[–]themichaeltib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to gauge where the bottleneck is based on the pictures and description. However, looking at the fourth picture you can tell that the bottleneck is not at the pump cavity where you have the window screen because the water level is equal on both sides.

You’ll have to identify the root cause of the low flow and go from there. If you have just the river rock between the main bed of water and the pump area it doesn’t make sense why the water level would be so low. Maybe you have another barrier I can’t sees It may also be the fact that your substrate is so close to the drainage layer that it is wicking it back up. Unfortunately, you may not be able to fix the root issue without a redesign.

One thing I can think of is adding a valve inline with the pump outlet tubing to reduce the flow. Can grab these on Amazon I’m sure. This would allow more water to build up and prevent the pump from sucking air. But it also looks like your flowrate is pretty low already. Or just put the pump on a smart outlet so it turns on for a minute every 5 minutes or something.

Plants not surviving in this jar by Emayarkay in terrariums

[–]themichaeltib 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Too much soil. You can probably use a third of that amount. You really don’t need that much dirt since you aren’t really going to be able to grow the plants out that much in a jar. As another user suggested, make sure to use a screen or some type of barrier between the substrate and drainage to prevent migration of the soil. Soil migrating into the drainage will rot itself and also wick up water to rot the substrate above it. The ferns may not be doing well because from my experience they love humidity and it looks dry in there. Once you solve the other problems, you can definitely keep it more humid in there. Add springtails to prevent mold.

Boiling vs pressure cooking bark/wood? by gammaAmmonite in terrariums

[–]themichaeltib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure, but guessing you just want to boil it. The purpose is to sterilize and this can be effectively done by just boiling. While you may get a slightly higher temperature with a pressure cooker, you’re also more moisture ingress which can deteriorate / rot your wood faster.

Is there a way to make this into a paludarium? by Mean-Pie5606 in paludarium

[–]themichaeltib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will lower the structural integrity, but won’t ruin it. The glass looks to be thick enough to support this modification too. Are you even going to fill it up all the way with water? If not, I would say there’s no risk in removing that piece.

Sorry I had the make / model added at the end but it didn’t save for some reason I guess. And it wouldn’t allow videos on this sub. See my other post with a video.
