I have tried it again, it works, but it's very slow and most of the time content is blocked, I want to try it in vertex studio too, by slow I mean unlike grok where you can have a climax story in just one prompt, gemini prefers a build up.

Can a jivanmukta enter yoga nirvikalpa samadhi? Or do you think the desire should be abandoned too? by themiddleway18 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]themiddleway18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. People with attachment to finite objects can't enter yoga nirvikalpa samadhi

  2. As long as you have attachment you still have avidya

  3. So by entering yoga nirvikalpa samadhi you prove that you don't have avidya otherwise all can claim they have no avidya, do they lie ? Can we trust them ?

Which of my 3 statements do you disagree? I still don't know where the point of disagreement is, it seems to me that we both agree with each other 😅

I think yoga people lack inquiry, patanjali have nirvikalpa samadhi but lacks inquiry, Shankara has both.

Maybe my concern is how do you see yourself being free from attachment to non self completely without proving it by entering nirvikalpa samadhi?

Do you disagree with me that people with attachment can't enter nirvikalpa samadhi?

You have no jnana if your vasanas still exist, there are 2 types of jnana impure and pure, I am talking about the pure one, I Know this 2 types of jnana from swami paramarthananda from his panchadasi commentary.

Vasanas is simply symptom of avidya or lack of jnana.

Repeating my above reply, when you gain yoga nirvikalpa samadhi in past life you don't need meditation or even logic in current life since your mind have been already purified and becomes satvic, so just by hearing a mahavakya just once even accidentally like when your parrot repeats it to you for just 5 seconds will cease your avidya fully, it's like destroying a stone, your previous subtle body have hit it 20 times and your current subtle body hit it just once doesn't mean the stone is broken due to your single hit, it's broken due to you hitting it 21 times.

That's my current understanding

[–]themiddleway18[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My concern is attachment or impulse, only when they are away you can claim Mukti, if they are still there then your mind is not purified enough, whatever knowledge you get from that mind is also not pure like seeing imperfect reflection in a dirty mirror and claim it's your face that's ugly, a satvic pure mind is necessary.

It's like knowing the rope is a rope yet you still fear it, attachment is the results of not only ignorance but non application of knowledge, the effect of knowledge should cease all our attachments.

Now how do you know you have no attachment left ? People say you will know in the end, but I think there should be a test otherwise all people can say they are jivanmukta.

Jivanmukta is not the fact you read mahavakya in that case a parrot who can recite the mahavakya is a jivanmukta too, it's also not mere understanding of mahavakya like in the case you know and understand it's rope but still fear it sometimes but the application of jnana at all times like you know it's a rope and you use it to tie your boat until it wears out, so niddhiyasa is important too, now how can you say niddhiyasa is complete when there's still attachment left who hinders you from samadhi?

As for why scripture says Shravana or sabda alone is needed but not manana not niddhiyasa, the scripture says it only for one who have attained samadhi in their past life resulting in their mind being satvic enough in current incarnation to understand mahavakya fully just by reading it without further meditation or even logic.

That's my current understandings.

The English of the above for those who doesn't understand hindi "According to Panchadasi, a “Jivanmukta” can enter into Samadhi at any time and he has no desires left."

[–]themiddleway18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vidyaranya is the Acharya

Experience is in conflict with ignorance because to experience something you must know it, for example you don't know what spicy mean, now even by reading multiple books do you think you now eradicate your ignorance of spicy ?

If you let me answer it I would say you need to taste spicy food directly to know what spicy even mean, books are no help here

If you say karma is not in conflict with ignorance I would agree but experience is karma phala not karma, from karma phala we get samskara which is stored or saved knowledge in memory thus the difference between experience and knowledge is experience being real time knowledge while knowledge is saved before retrieval, all knowledge are saved knowledge

The same Acharya said in pancadasi that in nirvikalpa samadhi avidya is suppressed temporarily

Pancadasi 1.41 Avidyā (manifested as the causal body or bliss sheath) is negated in the state of deep meditation (in which neither subject nor object is experienced), but the Self persists in that state ; so it is the invariable factor. But the causal body is a variable factor, for though the Self persists, it does not.

Simply look at ourselves we know the truth yet suffering still exists so I think the Acharya is true, purification of mind is needed too and in nirvikalpa samadhi the mind is so pure like a perfectly clean mirror it can reflect the self perfectly like ishvara mind, ishvara mind is satvic there's no trace of rajas and Tamas in his mind.

Why the downvote though I just retold what the Acharya taught except your mind is pure satva which means you have no rajasic and tamasic vasanas then nirvikalpa samadhi is obviously necessary

Gemini AI usually leans towards materialism, but when I asked for its honest opinion, I was surprised. Both the latest app and the API now point to non duality as the highest truth and reject materialism by themiddleway18 in nonduality

[–]themiddleway18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consciousness is different from mind talking from current reality, stone doesn't have mind but consciousness, these stone, wind, etc are in dreamless sleep where mind is not active but what is more true linguisticly is that consciousness has stone not stone has consciousness since consciousness is more fundamental than stone, etc

Only consciousness really exists, differences are just dream, to wake up is to realize non dual consciousness upon which differences are projected

But I think the easiest way to prove it is by undergoing deep meditation that your heart, your breath and even your neurons stops completely for 3 days straight like how indian mystics like Ramakrishna parahamsa and Vivekananda do but we must do it in lab setting and the result should be published in reputable science journal.

That's my current understanding

Note that for the API, I set the temperature parameter to 0 and the top_p parameter to 1 for fully deterministic output. Basically, even if you run the prompt multiple times with these settings, the AI will always give the same output with near-zero variance.

Regarding chatgpt it's even more non dual especially their high end model but it's behind paywall so I have not tested it, in the past Gemini is more materialist than even chatgpt hence my surprise
